They’re cute when they’re young and not sh*tting on your car
The highlight of my day was seeing these baby goslings.
This goose has been nesting in front of the job site I visit every Wednesday in the suburbs. She sits right near the entrance, and hisses at me every time I walk by.
Yes, I realize it is sad that this was today’s highlight. What was yours?

Today’s Idiom: to rule the roost – to be in charge, to be master
Data rules the roost in our household.
This wasn’t the furniture store in Naperville, was it?
They are so tiny! And fuzzy!
I hate geese and swans even moreso, but yes, the babies are precious. 🙂
I love it! That’s the kind of thing that would make my day, too.
kapgar – Ha ha! No! Did you have a similar experience?
sizzle – Don’t you just want to pick one up?! 🙂
diane – I thought of you when I saw them, because you wrote that post about loving Spring and babies. Or maybe you said it in an email? I don’t remember 🙁
Jodi – Maybe you’ll see some soon! 🙂
They are so cute! Guess what..i got 2 go 2 prom last weekend and it was super fun. We were the sophomore attendents. I had so much fun.
So cute and love the photoshop on the last pic. I think this is an awesome highlight to your day! That’d make me happy too :0)
No major highlight for me today…. not much new to report! Have a nice week!
Not me personally. Well, not with those particular geese. I have had bad experiences. But there is a furniture store in south Naperville where one goose was attacking patrons and it turned out his mate had a nest in a garden near the entrance. They became “adopted,” per se, by the store and its employees and they’re currently running a naming contest for the seven hatchlings. The parents are Fred and Wilma. They’ve been featured in everything from the Naperville Sun to the Chicago Sun-Times to ABC7 news.
Me? I’d call them all pate. I hate geese. Vile, shit-filled, angry winged heathens. Ducks are awesome, though.
When Sweets and I were driving home from Michigan last weekend, on the highway, the car ahead of us and one lane over began braking … hard. Then, Sweets slammed on his brakes and threw on his hazard lights. Turns out 2 geese and 3 goslings were crossing the highway. The car ahead of us began honking his horn and sort of chasing the geese off the highway. It was unbelievable that situation didn’t conclude with road kill or a crash!
How cute! The geese at my office are so scary and aggressive I would never get to see their babies for fear they’d attack.
Danielle – That sounds like fun. Did you get to wear a nice dress?
javaqueen14 – I think that is actually what the goose was thinking. You can’t come up with ONE highlight? 😉
kapgar – I didn’t hear about that! I will have to follow up on that story and see what names they choose.
Nilsa S. – Oh my gosh! I am surprised that did not cause an accident either… and that the people actually stopped!
Jenn – Do they come every year?
