Spoiled Rotten Kitteh

“Where’s Data’s yellow foam ball?”

“I don’t know.” Steven looks up from his book. “I don’t remember the last time I saw it.”

“Hmm. Should I get a new one out for him?” I ask hopefully.

“NO! We need to put some of his toys away before we get any new ones out.”

“But why? They are only cat toys!”

“Because they’re ALL OVER the house and he doesn’t even play with them!”

See what an awful mother I would be?

Hey, I guess my new book only provides 4 idioms per week! Yeah, should have researched that a bit better. I am probably going to spread them out – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday… or something like that. (Or just tell me if you think I should get rid of the feature all together!)

You and Steven are just like the Cleavers’ from Leave It To Beaver. I guess that makes Data, the Beav. I vote to keep the idioms because you seem to be having fun with them.

  2. sizzle says:

I think this bodes well for your future kids- they are gonna have lots of toys! 😉

  3. Kyra (savy) says:

My dog(s) has more toys than I think my kids do… *ahem*

  4. Robin says:

Break out the new ball. If you don’t spoil your pet, how are you going to learn how to spoil your children?

  5. diane says:

I stopped buying toys a long time ago, and since the kittehs are happy to chase their tails and host the kitty olympics, it doesn’t seem to be a problem.
I like the idioms, but mostly because the way you use them in a sentence never fails to crack me up! 🙂

  6. Nilsa S. says:

Hahah – I can relate. My dog has a million toys that usually start the day nicely piled into her basket. By the end of the day, they’re scattered everywhere. Not because she plays with most of them (no way – she’s too picky for that). No, she pulls them out to get our attention. And it never works the way she hopes, because we don’t notice or care until hours later when one of us trips!

If you like the idioms, keep them. It is YOUR blog, after all.

  7. I’m just as bad because I keep BUYING Manny toys that he doesn’t play with. I like to have them around in case he ever has the urge to get up and do something, haha. Psst…take out a new foam ball thingy…I won’t tell Steven!

Andrew – I’ve never seen that show… so I’ll have to ask Steven what you’re talking about. 😉

sizzle – That is what I would fear… a room replete with toys!

Kyra (savy) – Ha ha! There’s nothing wrong with that!

Robin – I got home before Steven so I put away all of Data’s other toys to get the ball out!

diane – I usually don’t buy toys for Data for the same reason, but I just KNEW he would love these balls! Hee hee! Thanks – I’m happy you like my idioms 🙂

Nilsa S. – Aww, Data does that too – he brings his favorite toys upstairs on to the bed! So cute!

Gina (Mannyed) – You just haven’t found the right toy for Manny yet! 😉

  9. hhhmmm, i could swear i left a comment yesterday but as tired as i’ve been i might not have actually posted it… nice!!
it’s a good thing you wanted to get another ball out for Data… in the event that he decides that he wants to play then he will have many many choices… spoiled rotten kittehs are the best kind to have!!
our house is covered in kitteh toys too… i don’t mind though, it’s just part of having a “kid”… i think R just blocks the toys out… hehe
i think this is a sign that you’ll be a great mom!!! keeping the kids happy is what it’s about… 🙂

CourtneyInControl – I think Steven tries to block them out… until he trips on them or something 😉
