Things I am loving lately

  1. My Shaker BottleBrian recommended one for mixing protein powder. I didn’t think I needed one because I was using a spoon, but after many clumpy shakes, I bought one, and damn, it works really well!
  2. Personal Training – I haven’t lost any weight because of my poor eating habits, but I am really enjoying my personal training sessions. I look forward to them each week!
  3. Riding my bike outside – so much better than the bike in the gym, and a lot of fun. Yay, crosstraining! Pictures from my ride yesterday:
  4. Not having anything planned for this weekend and the next one
  5. Spending time with Steven – we haven’t been around each other much lately
  6. Running Times magazine – I picked up a copy a few years ago and really didn’t like it. I needed something to read for a flight back in April and gave it another try and fell in love. I think it’s for a higher level runner than me, but it’s full of a lot of useful information, and interesting bios on runners.
  7. Rain in the forecast – means less time watering the garden (our garden is a 10 minute drive from our house and we have to haul water back and forth from a basin to water our crops)!

I could also make a list titled “Things I am hating lately” but I am going to stick with the positive today. It’s Saturday, afterall!

What are you loving lately?

Oooh, I like the protein shaker! That’s neat. BTW, (you’ve probably answered this before), what kind of protein do you use?

And do you like Running Times or RW better?

I have been using Sun Warrior Protein Powder in vanilla. It actually tastes decent (to me!). http://www.sunwarrior.com/products/sunwarrior-protein

And I think Running Times is more useful information that RW. I really have to concentrate when I am reading it. It’s less fluff than RW. RW is still fun too. Although I hated the cancer focused July issue.

Nice list! I especially like number 4 🙂 If I didn’t have a doctor’s appointment today I don’t know if I would have gotten out of bed.

Your ride yesterday looks beautiful! Where did you go?

    • kilax says:

      How did your appointment go?

We were up at 8:00 to drive to Wheaton to pick up a new hood for the Datsun. So tired!

I rode on the Millenium Trail. It’s about 11 miles long and south of our house and VERY hilly. It is what the trail by our house will eventually connect to!

I am loving my gils and that the cat has come out of her shell. I am loving the sunny weather and the lake breeze. And finally m window box is looking pretty, glad that i have a light green thumb

  4. Kristina says:

    Enjoy the less-structured weekend!

I’m beginning to love swimming – yay!
I love relaxed breakfasts and lunches at home because I’m not working.

  5. Etta says:

I am loving that my friend asked if she could have my hours today. She needs the money and I love any opportunity to be at home with my husband on the weekend!

Friends who text message me at 4:30 in the morning to wish me luck in my race 🙂

  7. Britt says:

That is such a lovely forecast. Can’t wait for some soggy runs this week.

  8. Kapgar says:

I’ve got one of those bottles. Haven’t used it yet but I’ve got one.

Things I like: your blog 🙂
Running Times is my all-time favorite magazine. It’s beyond me, too, in terms of the applicability of the advice, but I love that it takes running seriously as a sport and not a recreation, if that makes sense (I never feel like it denigrates recreational runners, but it also doesn’t seem to pander to them like Runner’s World does).

    • kilax says:

      Thanks 🙂

“Beyond me” – yes, those are the right words for me too! I don’t know why I didn’t really care for it before.

  10. julie ilax says:

Love the monkeys (Steven’s primate friends) and pictures of your bike ride.

    • kilax says:

Thanks! Steven wanted me to tell you that HE took that picture while I was running the Madison Marathon.

Must add to this list: RED ROBIN IN DUBUQUE HOW DID WE NOT KNOW?!?!?!

  11. Kandi says:
