Would you rather live somewhere where the you see significant changes in the seasons throughout the year, or where it pretty much stays the same? What is your ideal daily temperature?
I’m back and forth on this. And my answer definitely varies depending on during which season you ask me! I enjoy the snow, and don’t mind the colder temperatures, but four+ months of it gets to be a bit too much for me! Ideally, I think I would like some place where each day has a decent amount of daylight, the temperature is usually above 70° (although that’s not ideal for running) and it’s not humid. Maybe we’ll get there someday. It would be great to live somewhere where I could exercise outside everyday of the year.
Ah, snow.
This morning, while I was getting ready to leave, Steven sleepily asked if it snowed. I looked outside and sure enough, it had! Good thing he asked me – I would have been pressed for time if I hadn’t known about the snow. I asked him how he knew it was going to snow (he usually doesn’t keep track of the weather) and he said he could “sense evil.” Ha ha.
So I went outside and found this
which meant I had to wear these
and do this.
Yes, I could live without snow. And also, without the hidden layer of ice underneath the snow. Very tricky, mother nature.
My car has a “snow” switch (and AWD) which I think splits the power between the front and rear of the car (Steven, help)? I turned it on for shits and giggles this morning. I only slipped once on my way to the train station. Hooray! Snow!

I’ve been craving a new wardrobe lately. I think this is a fall thing. Yeah, it’s not “fall,” but we’re definitely having fall weather here. Plus, I am going to Washington D.C. soon for a work trip. I’ll be in a conference all week, and my logic is – “I NEED A NEW OUTFIT FOR EACH DAY!” Uh… these are people I have never met*. How would they know if my outfit was new or not?
The bummer is, I am on a total spending freeze and have been for a few months. I’m only spending money when it’s in gift card form.
But, that doesn’t mean I can’t look! Here are some of the tops that have caught my eye lately. They all seem to have a fun detail to them – which probably means they will be dated in a few years. Oh, and they all seem to be somewhat similar to clothes I have NOW – another reason I don’t need them!
From New York & Company:
Looks like the mustard color is still in style!
From Ann Taylor:
From Banana Republic:
(actually have a large gift card to here, but need to lose weight – their clothes are too expensive to buy in a bigger size – I’ve gotten burned that way before)
Actual Gift Card Buys:
And here are my actual gift card buys. The first one is from JCPenney. I got that top in that design (but in purple, not blue) and in black. The second two tops are from Kohl’s. I bought those with a pair of pants. I didn’t like the top at first, but then saw that the mannequin had it on with the flyaway cardigan, and it looks really cute together.
What are you lusting after these days?
*Except for the one coworker I am going with.

What do you love/hate about fall?
Although it is not “officially” fall (or autumn, as I like to refer to it), it sure as hell feels like it, with these cool temperatures.
And that is what I love about fall – the cooler temperatures. It’s perfect for wearing a light jacket on a walk outside. The temperature is also perfect for running without a jacket on. It’s just a comfortable temperature all around. I don’t get sweaty walking to work or to the train.
Unfortunately, that comfortable temperature only lasts a certain amount of time!
The only thing I hate is the idea that summer is ending, and summer-fun along with it. But it’s my goal to start having “summer-fun” all year round. There’s no reason I have to lock myself in the house all fall/winter/spring! I can still get out and do things!
