Lucky me!
Two blogger meet-ups in one week?! Lucky me!
As you know, I met up with Amanda (Vegacious) on Friday on my way to Kansas City. When I wrote all about it, Lauren (When I get a little, run run run…) told me she would be in KC on Tuesday and asked if I wanted to meet up.
Of course!
I made sure to remove the GIANT bowls of tortilla chips out of the picture. Ha!
I first found Lauren’s blog back in December when we participated in a holiday gift exchange and were assigned to each other. I didn’t know any AZ bloggers at the time, and loved reading about how she could actually run outside in nice weather during the “winter” months! Ha ha.
It was great to take a break tonight and have a nice, light-hearted conversation (not saying anything about Lauren’s conversational skills – just that that’s all I could handle!). Lauren is very personable and easy to talk to. I could tell that we could have talked and talked and talked, especially since she’s has a structural engineer degree and I have an architectural degree! Ha. We could tease each other for ages. I hope we get to meet up again sometime, when I am not trying to get back to the hospital at a decent hour…
We talked a bit about twitter and Lauren told me that’s where it’s at (or, that’s where she likes to dish). Who else uses twitter? What do you like/dislike about it?
Honestly, I haven’t checked it out much, but I am kind of curious…
First off, I love that shirt you’re wearing. Where’d you get it?
Second, I have twitter. I’m always tweeting. I have no idea why and I don’t know if anyone really reads what I’m posting, but I do it anyway.
Thanks – it’s from the Banana Republic Outlet.
So… twitter is kind of just for fun, for you?
I have a twitter but I don’t really update or check it too often. I’m trying to check it more often… but I don’t access it from my phone. I’ve found out about some interesting deals via twitter, which is why I signed up in the first place.
I like Twitter and think it’s good for social media (I use it for work, too) but I’m not as into it as many people. Good for self-promotion and staying up to date on minute-by=minute events, though.
I’m still feeling out twitter… not a huge fan, but I’m giving it a chance!
Although I know very little about what I’m doing… lol
Yay for meet-ups! 🙂 Sounds like a fun evening.
I use twitter to tap into whatever’s going on in my various ‘communities’ – runners, educators, moms (they let this auntie chat w/ them..lol), and business/social media folks. It’s like stepping into a networking meeting or lunch date, and choosing to chat or just listen in. I tend to tweet quite a lot and then stay quiet for a a few wks at a time… no pressure – just fast conversation in short spurts.
Great for promotion, building community, networking…. like it! The misnomer is that twitter is ‘simple’ and 140 characters, easy. Truth is: brevity takes thought and practice. The best tweets are short and to the point – leaving you laughing or thinking.
You’d be an awesome participant… a way with words! 🙂
How can I follow you? (Is that what it is called?)
I used to use twitter but I haven’t even looked at it in months.
I love that shirt you’re wearing! You’re beautiful!
Aww, thanks Kim 🙂
Myself, I haven’t even looked into Twitter yet…seems I already have enough “time sucks” 🙂
Never use Twitter mostly b/c I can barely keep up with all my other social media stuff!!
I don’t use Twitter, I just can’t see the justification of it for me personally.
How fun that you got to meet up! What a wonderful break in your week.
I admit to also being curious about Twitter. It seems like a good way to get information. Jason uses it and finds out about a lot of things. He seems to really enjoy it. I don’t know if I really want one more thing to have to worry about checking (or updating), though.
I am sort of feeling the same way as you… I will let you know what I think 😉 (like I always do, right?) 😛
Girl you know I love the Twitters. 😀
Bloggy meetups, YaY!!
I use twitter, but only in spurts (i’m a “using” spurt right now). adamrisu
So fun that you guys were able to meet up!
Blogger meet ups are fun. Been to several in the last few years.
As for Twitter, I use it a lot. It’s easy to post something small and often. While I’m sure it cuts into the time I could spend blogging (I’m sure it does to some extent), it’s fun to be on my phone and have communication with friends, family and other bloggers.
It was so fun to meet you! Despite the geographical distance, we’ll have to do it again!
