- We recycled our Christmas tree at the local forest preserve Monday, and now our living space feels so empty! But also, feels so nice and clean (minus those few stray needles, of course). Ahh.
- Snow left Tuesday am. He was inside a long time – from 2:00 pm Sunday until 4:00 am Tuesday! The first night he slept under the bed, but the second night, he discovered the joy (really, warmth) of sleeping on top of a human. I didn’t sleep well that night.
- Just as my detail at work is about to end, one of my teammates has come back from maternity leave! I really enjoyed working with her before she went on leave and am glad we get to work together a bit more.
- Data and Khali both ended up liking the cat house Santa brought for them, which made me happy. And I love how they both look sinister in the photos below. Ha!
- Steven set up an old monitor of his at my desk. Yay, I can be more efficient with three screens (it’s often I have to reference three+ applications at the same time for my work)!

Man now I wish I would have bought one of those houses for Dex, they look so funny inside it!! 🙂
I’ll keep an eye out for them in the clearance section!
Ooh, I love that you can recycle your Christmas trees. That’s so much better than leaving them out on the sidewalk, where they look all sad and get peed on by dogs. (I’ve passed so many today.)
Are you going to keep the cat houses out all year? They have Christmas lights, so I was wondering if they’re a holiday treat for the cats. (They look like NIMBYs hahaha.)
I use two monitors at work too! I think it’s really helpful to have my work sectioned off into different screens and desktops!
I like that we can do that too! I like thinking about it being made in to trails that I run on. And I didn’t even think about trees getting peed on, ew.
I am just going to leave the house out until they destroy it! What is a NIMBY? I was google searching and wasn’t sure if I found the right thing.
Isn’t it though? Much better than having two programs on one screen. Ick.
They really do look sinister in those cat houses!
Right? They crack me up 🙂
Very nice monitor setup! I think one of the big things that keeps me from being super eager to work from home (I’m allowed to once per week, but so far I’ve only taken advantage of that once) is that I won’t have my forest of monitors like I have at the office, haha. Even at my old job, I had one gigantic monitor. Both were SO much better than trying to do all my work on one laptop screen. I don’t even like using my personal laptop that much now that I’m so used to having all my programs visible at all times instead of having to click around trying to get to the window I need.
Thanks! I can see that holding you back from working at home! Once you get used to it, the laptop seems sooooo small. One of the times at work when we “right-sized” (LOL) we had the option to get rid of our secondary monitors and just use our laptops and I couldn’t believe people actually did it! Gimme all the monitors! (Now all desks have two monitors and a dock)
I’ve always thought those little cat houses/scratchers are so cute, so I finally bought one this year. Our toddler quickly tore it apart.
So the cats still have another scratcher, the kid has pieces of cardboard to throw around. I guess that’s a fair compromise!
Oh gosh! I guess it’s for cats and kids! Ha ha ha. Sounds like it all worked out!
That is a cute cat house! And too funny about Snow – our poor kitty Henry was outside during the worst of the cold snap here, but he’s insisted on sleeping inside, on our bed, ever since we came home…and he ALWAYS goes outside at night, his choice, even when the weather is bad (he can go in the garage). I think he was traumatized…
Aww, I feel so bad for Henry!!! I bet he is so happy to be inside meow!
