Random Thoughts Thursday 52

  • Ugh, seems like I am still stuck in December fluff mode. The only post I can muster out is a list. Ha ha. I am hoping that when I start to exercise at my normal level again… that my brain will return to it’s normal level… again. Hee hee, here’s to hoping!
  • I LOVE talking to my family about their fitness pursuits! Yesterday, my dad and I emailed about how he ran for an hour on Tuesday, my sister and I texted about how she tried the 30 Day Shred, and my mom and I chatted on the phone about two new classes she tried that day and what rating of perceived exertion (RPE) she should aim for in each workout. I am proud of my family!
  • I received the four-in-one olloclip lens for my phone for the holiday, and I just love playing with it! It has fisheye, wide angle, a 15x macro and a 10x macro lens. I am really impressed with it.

  • Did you make resolutions or goals for the new year? So many people have asked me if I have, and I feel like I am the only one who hasn’t. Ha ha. I’m not really a goal-oriented person.
  • I had two other bullet points on here that I removed, because they were kind of negative. It seems like there has been a lot of negativity/complaining on social media lately… and I just don’t want to add to it. Maybe the cold is making people extra cranky. Am I image crafting? Yes. I keep the crappy stuff offline, typically.

    Your blog looks so different!!!!

I love what you can do with that little lens – it is way cool!

No resolutions for me, at least as far as health and fitness go. I DO have some personal life type goals, more about how I keep my house and live my daily life. Just ss important, to me…and to John, lol…

If one more person complains about the weather my head might explode, so I hear you 🙂

  2. Kandi says:

I didn’t set any specific resolutions. I have some general goals I’m working towards but that’s about it.
I love those lenses for your phone. I wonder if they make something like this for the Samsung Galaxy phones. I should be getting my new one today.
Your site is loading funny for me too.

I so knew you wouldn’t have a big New Year’s goal/resolution post. Meh, other than my running-related goals (which I’ll note I started on in December), I’ve got nothing specific to this year. I mean, there’s stuff I’m working on (losing weight, digging out of debt, etc.), but it’s unrelated to it being a new year. Just stuff that needs to happen. And honestly, that’s enough that I really don’t want to have any other goals out there right now.

That’s a pretty sweet lens! I’ve always thought our running selfies could be improved with higher resolution (haha just kidding, please make those as blurry as you can). But I’d love something like that for when I take pictures of Meko doing/wearing everything better.

Ha ha ha! How did you know? Like you though, there are things I am always working on… I don’t wait for a new year to do it 😉

I thought the wide angle would help with taking selfies! I wonder if they make this for Android phones.

I’m still in awe of those lenses. The macro one is amazing!! My phone camera doesn’t take as good of pics as it used to and I think it’s because I might have gotten too much sweat on the lens or something. So, you’ll just have to take all the pictures from now on, okay?

  5. Nina says:

Love the fish eye of Data!

I made a few resolutions. One is actually sticking with and doing a training plan. I always slack on them. Oops!

  6. Pete B says:

Cool pictures. I did not realize you could buy detachable lenses for smartphones!

    • kilax says:

Xaarlin actually showed me hers in Dec 2012 and that was the first time I’d see one! I’ve kind of wanted one ever since! 🙂

  7. Melanie says:

I love that you’re not goal oriented! I once thought that not setting goals was one of my downfalls, but hearing that you, one of the most motivating people I’ve met, also doesn’t set goals/make resolutions, I think I’ll stick with my non-goal oriented ways. Thanks.

    • kilax says:

Oh wow 🙂 That is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. Thank you so much 🙂

For some reason, setting myself up with a lot of goals and a plan on how to get there makes me want to rebel a bit. I am better if I just take things day by day. I’ve had a lot of cool stuff happen to me, so I think I am on a good track. LOL!

Holy cow– I can’t believe the shots you can get with that lens! I really need to upgrade…a “fashion” blogger can’t use a digital point and shoot camera…come on! I should have asked for one this Christmas…I’ll just add it to my list for this year haha! How did you figure out what type of camera was best?

    • kilax says:

That is from a lens for my iPhone! But, if you are thinking of upgrading, you should talk to Steven. He got the Canon Rebel T3i in December 2012 and has several lenses for it now and would probably be able to help you figure out what you need. And when we were picking his, we got some recs before we bought it. We’ve had such great luck with Canon, we decided to stay in that family (my point and shoot is a canon too).

  9. chezjulie says:

I made a NY resolution to call a particular friend that I haven’t seen in a while about getting together. I thought that was a good one!

  10. kim says:

I didn’t make any resolutions either. I couldn’t think of any!

  11. Heather says:

Great photos! I really need to learn how to use our nice camera – I’m just so impatient. lol

    • kilax says:

Thanks! Yeah, that is why I stick with my phone. My husband keeps showing me how to use the DSLR and I just can’t retain it for some reason. I probably need to use it more.

  12. J says:

I did make two news years resolutions – to keep the house clean by tiding up everyday for 15 minutes and to put away my work clothes as soon as I come home and change instead of throwing them on the floor. Since I was sick with a stomach bug last weekend and my husband got it this week, the clothes one has not been happening but the house is still mostly clean. I think also I am going into nesting mode because I seriously just want to organize everything in the house and throw out all the junk but I just don’t have enough energy after working all day. Hope you are feeling better and have a good weekend!

    • kilax says:

Oh man! And I hope you feel better soon, too and have a nice relaxing weekend full of all that organizing! Getting ready for Christmas, then putting everything away (decorations and new gifts) has me totally wanting to organize and purge, too. 🙂

  13. Mica says:

I didn’t make any resolutions either, yeah! Also, I love that picture of Data. Hi, Data-boyfriend!

Fisheye and cats go along rather nicely.
