Friday Question #26
Which celebrity would you pick to be our next president?
Natalie Portman!
Are you at all surprised?
I think she’s compassionate, rational, smart, and attractive (heh, heh).
Oh wait. She’s not 35, and wasn’t born in the US (but her mom was from the US, so maybe that’s okay?).
She’s the only celebrity whose political views I know, so I am going to have to rely on your suggestions…
Okay, I’m honestly not giving this a LOT of thought at the moment…(just got up a little bit ago and don’t have a LOT of time to think about it), BUT…
…off the top of my head two names that came to mind (though if I did take the time to think about it, I might come up with reasons why I think either of them might NOT make a good president) are John Travolta or Johnny Depp.
John Cusack. I agree with just about every one of his political views, he seems to have a good handle on things in life, he’s very commanding in the roles he plays, but still laid back enough to have fun and not take everything he does too serious.
Sure there are others that come to mind: Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, Tom Hanks. But most of those celebs can be “out there” at times, and since we already have a president that is “out there”, that’s the last attribute we need from our Commander-in-Chief.
Tom Hanks!
I don’t know, there’s just something about the guy that makes me trust him. Plus, he’s cuddly.
Or Henry Rollins but he’d never do it. He’s too smart for that.
I’m not sure celebrities should be presidents…
I think George Clooney would make a fantastic president but I doubt he or many other big celebrities would actually run for that office. He’d have to be a senator or something for a term or two first.
BTW, John McCain wasn’t born in the United States but his parents were U.S. citizens.
Barack in 2008!!!
Erm. I don’t think celebrities should be president either. Just once, I would like to see a president on speaking terms with reality.
George Clooney!
I’d never pick a celeb for our president and when I hear their political view (i.e. Dave Matthews, etc) it’s such a turn off to me. Sorry. I’m weird that way.
Oooh, that’s a tough one. I don’t dig celebrities enough to vote for them. Though, I do love how Brangelina spread their wealth to those who need it most … and not in a lip service kind of way.
Hi, I followed your link off Miss Britt. Good question. Since most politicians, especially those running for President really ARE celebrities already, I am assuming you mean actors or actresses. Since we are now choosing people based on simple name and face recognition, (Dictoinary.com defines celebrity as “a well known person”) then I would probably go for Tila Tequila or some other semi hot chick known for taking off her clothes.
I figure she can’t mess up the country much worse than it is already and at least I’d want to watch the press conferences.
