Custom plate required

Classic car owners really seem to love their custom plates. Maybe it’s a code of honor that you get one if you own a classic?

Dad… quick… name all these car models and years! I won’t be able to tell you if you are right or not, but it could be a fun exercise.

My personal fave is the last one. Ha ha.

What is the most memorable custom license plate you’ve seen? Bonus points if you say KIMBOT!

A few years ago at Target, I saw a plate that said MEXICAN. For some reason that cracked me up big time!

We saw these custom plates and quite a few more at a local car show we attended last night. There are a ton of car shows out here in the summer and I think I would like to start attending more of them. Steven is really in to cars, and I am in to cars in the sense that I am like “Ooo! That one’s pretty!” and “I like that one because it is orange.” Ha ha. There’s just a fun vibe at these shows. And lots of dreaming involved on our ends… “when we have our mansion and 20 car garage let’s get one of those!!!”

Also, going to car shows is very nostalgic for me, because my family went to a lot when I was growing up. And yet… I learned nothing about cars… FAIL KIM FAIL.

I think I may have mentioned before but still the most memorable one for me is the one in my work parking lot…”FNCLASSY”. I also saw one parked the other day that was “00FRO” (I took a picture) and I’m trying to decide whether or not that was on purpose or a weird coincidence (it was a handicap tag which in AL naturally has a different configuration of letters/numbers than regular tags)

AL is the like personalized tag central…I love trying to decode the creative ones!

Looking at license plates is fun – even just to see the different states!
I got my brand new PA plate yesterday, and I’m thinking about getting a custom plate (it’s surprisingly cheap) but am having a hard time deciding between a few options!

  3. I once saw a license plate that simply said “Foof” it made all of us crack up. I’m betting their car is pretty stinky on the inside. Haha

In high school I worked at JCPenney. We would make announcements when there were cars in the parking lots with the lights still on. One time there was a car with its lights on and its license plate was “MADWOMAN”. Needless to say, we had fun making that announcement!

“Attention all customers, if you are the owner of a red Ford Taurus with the license plate MADWOMAN, your lights are on.”

  5. My dad loves old cars and he used to drag my sister and I to car shows all the time when we were little – which I dreaded. But now I love going with him and hearing talk about cars. As for vanity plates, I wanted some desperately when I was 16 but my parents didn’t cave. I’ve seen some clever ones but I think that “CARGASM” one is pretty funny!

  6. You will have to tell me next time you his go! Rich loves cars and I know nothing, do we could learn (or pretend) together!

My dad has some classic Cougar (I think, like, ’63), and his license place is “STL PURN” (“Still Purrin'”) which took me a long time to figure out. I sort of love it!

Just saw this, 71 Firebird, 65 Oldsmobile 442, 69 Chevelle SS396, 63 or 64 Buick Riviera, 69 Camaro Z28, can’t see enough of the last one. First guess from what I can see would be 67 or 68 Camaro but I could be way off.

I think having a custom plate is a great way to accessorize your car! I can’t remember any of the funny ones I’ve seen, but I love to try and figure them out. Jason’s really good at decoding them.

Our license plate on our 2006 Chrysler Crossfire is: OUTASYT

Guess who came up with that? ME!!!

It was originally on our 2002 Magnetic Red Corvette

Corvette was traded for a truck, so naturally the license plate had to go to the Crossfire. 😉

We just saw a funny run on our run last week and I was sorry I didn’t have my camera. The car was a Mercedes and the license plate was: ” 1-BMW-297″ – ha ha!
