Training Week 137

Highlight of the Week: My running club won the Elgin Valley Fox Trot this past Saturday! We got a club trophy and every team member gets a water bottle. Neat! Also… riding to Dairy Dream on Monday with Steven was a lot of fun. Bike ride to eat food that negates calories burned during ride? Count me in!

Lessons learned:

  • If I am running before sunrise at a forest preserve I need to wear glasses to keep the bugs out of my eyes.
  • It may be the season to always carry a bottle, no matter the distance of the run. I had super dry mouth Tuesday morning.
  • Don’t be worried about being the slow runner in a running club challenge. You may still help the team!

  • BIKE GLOVES BIKE GLOVES BIKE GLOVES! Don’t forget them! Put them with your bike!

    I’m loving your “lessons learned” section. My lesson for the week? DON’T wear your white visor on a 12 miler immediately after getting your hair dyed. Not if you want it to ever be white again anyhow…

    (and I’m always worried about being the slow runner. I should knock that off…)

      I never even would have thought of that!

      Please don’t be one of the runners who worries about being too slow. I really think that is holding a lot of people back. Your pace only matters to you.

    Oooo – bugs in the eyes – yuck! I always wear my glasses when running outdoors so I’ve never noticed this could be a problem.

  5. what is dairy dream? vegan ice cream shop? so excited to see you this weekend. saw your 5k giveaway, by any chance are you going to that event on Thursday evening?

      Dairy Dream is a local ice cream place. They only have a few vegan things… I usually get a slushie! I wish they had vegan ice cream too!

      I am excited to see you this weekend too! I have another appointment Thursday night so I am going to skip the interview. Are you going?
