Blub in a tub

By , February 4, 2008 5:34 am

When I saw a commercial for this yesterday I was in awe:

There is a problem with this photo though. It shows a pie tin and some sort of pie crust inside of it, then the filling. But what do you need a pie tin and crust for when you have “Ready-to-Eat” cheesecake filling? Doesn’t that just mean it is ready to eat right out of the tub?

Because if I wanted to be any more of a careless pig, that is what I would eat. Luckily, Target didn’t have any when we did our shopping yesterday.

Ha ha.

Actually, Steven and I are on a pretty healthy eating plan. At the beginning of the week, we stock up on salad, fruit, vegetables, and healthy snacks. And we take them to work and eat them. We usually do really well throughout the week on not eating out (unless we are working VERY late – it happens) and making sure we don’t eat too much throughout the day.

I could be doing a lot better on exercising though. Steven just jumps on the treadmill and is off and running… when I get on I am huffing and puffing and get discouraged. And it doesn’t help I have been getting home past 8:30 a few nights a week.

But I’m trying. And that’s what counts. I am sure that I will eventually catch up with my work and be able to commit some time to exercise… because we all know work is more important than exercise, right? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight…

It IS what counts. I read somewhere that 85% of weight loss happens in the kitchen. You are on the right path–remember, one step at a time! You’re already doing more than probably most of the country (who are likely sitting in front of the telly shoveling cheesecake in a tub into their mouths)!

  2. i think it’s awesome that you’re on a more healthy eating plan!!! YAY for you!!! baby steps… at least you’re taking some sort of action, that’s more than i can say for me!!

    trying counts for a lot!

  4. ajooja says:

Ohhhhhhhhh, I hope my wife doesn’t see this. She’s been known to eat a small tub of cake frosting just because. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m more of a “couple of spoonfuls” kind of guy.

Actually, that stuff doesn’t look very good, considering most cheesecakes are cooked. If you want something like that you ought to snag a box of the sugar free jello pudding cheesecake and make that up. I bet it tastes close to the same!

  6. Robin says:

That looks YUMMY! I could probably eat it right out of the tub. Why waste extra calories on the crust? Right?

  7. haha, Robin is so right! Forget the crust and save those calories for something else!

  8. ps, love the masthead picture! haha, pigeon!

“Doesnโ€™t that just mean it is ready to eat right out of the tub?”

That’s what happens in my house. Never makes it into a pie crust, or tin, or anything other than my mouth. ๐Ÿ˜›

heh, haven’t noticed that product on the shelves yet… if I had, I’d probably be able to tell you if it’s edible (and I mean tasty, because, you’re right, there’s no need for the pie crust!) right out the container ๐Ÿ™‚ Your timing’s good/bad with this news: I’ve been tempted to make cheesecake recently ,,, haven’t though, because I know it’ll be baaaaaaaad for me! I’m not on an overt diet plan, but I’ve been making it a point to stock up with fruit & veg weekly, and actually eat them ๐Ÿ™‚ Was good for the first 2 weeks of the year, then kinda stumbled, and now am getting back on track. I still have about 30+ lbs I would like to start shedding, preferably before October when I will probably be back in Malaysia for a while, maybe it’ll shut up those unkind tongues I’ve had to deal with the last few times I’ve been back…

    HA!

I can totally picture myself pouring a whole container of that stuff in a bowl, maybe covering it with Oreo crumbles, and devouring it.

  12. Felicia says:

When I read the title I wasn’t sure where you were going with that LOL

I do not want to find that product, I love cheesecake YUMMY!!!!

I haven’t done great on the exercise either I need a kick in the butt!!

diane – thanks Diane ๐Ÿ™‚ will you be my cheerleader? ๐Ÿ˜‰

CourtneyInControl – it is hard to stay on track during the winter. The cold weather makes me want to stay inside and eat.

sizzle – hopefully my trying will eventually evolve into something more!

    ajooja – I like your wife ๐Ÿ™‚

Kyra – and it is probably more likely that I will eat less of that!

Robin – Ha ha! Yeah, those extra crust calories are not needed!

Gina (Mannyed) – maybe I should save the calories for a tub of cool whip? Ha ha! Thanks for commenting on the masthead! I hope the birds don’t scare anyone away!

Lisa – there’s nothing wrong with that! Well, as long as you don’t have a fridge full of these tubs! ๐Ÿ˜‰

*lynne* – sounds like you ARE On the right track! YOU must ignore this post completely! Maybe get a single serving cheesecake pudding like Kyra suggested?

Rachel – Damn! You had to go and mention oreos…

Felicia – Let’s both promise to stay away from it… and do near the treadmill instead!

  14. Uh, we already bought this cheesecake stuff a few months ago and dispensed with it using just spoons and gusto. It was AWESOME.

I am in desperate need of exercise, although I despise doing it. I don’t have a snowblower and actually don’t mind that I must shovel snow like it’s 1982 because this is the only exercise I get lately, sad but true ๐Ÿ™‚

As for cheesecake, my sweet tooth is nearly non-existent so a tub of that stuff would stick around for years past its expiration date in my house. Not that I don’t have my food vices, oh my. If that photo was of 5 pounds of various cheeses, I’d be unable to resist.
