A message from the universe
“Hey, Kim! It really is TOO early to put out those fall candles!”
It’s kind of hard to tell with that ugly tile, but that’s a candle holder and broken candle, and candle wax all over the floor and shower curtain, and a bit on the walls and bath tub and the things next to the bathtub.
So.
I had my weekend recap ready to go (hint: I did nothing… and I’ll post it later), but let’s talk about this.
We needed to clean Data in the sink this morning.
I had a candle going on the sink and thought “I better move this so we don’t knock it over while we clean him!”
Then proceeded to move it to an uneven surface where it knocked over naturally, cause, duh.
Sigh.
So, clean Data, clean the mess he made, then try to clean the bathroom. I’m not trying to clean the shower curtain – screw that – I ordered a new one.
I’m sharing this because I’m proud of how calm I am in a crisis. Oh, candle dropping behind me and wax and glass going everywhere? That’s okay! I am cleaning Data now and will get to that later.
Poop and pee outside of the litter box again? No worries! I know how to clean that!
But gosh, I sure do spend a lot of time cleaning up messes. The cats’, and my own!

Thanks! It really is. I think I did a decent job on the hard surfaces (and the candle holder, cause duh, gotta save that!) but wasn’t even going to attempt the curtain. It needed to be replaced anyway 😉
Good on ya for holding it together while hot wax and glass flew all over – I swear, trying to clean up candle wax mess is one of the hardest things to do…and add broken glass into the mix? Yuck.
It really is hard! I used my expired bowling pass (it’s like credit card material) to scrape up as much as possible. Some I had to melt with a flame. Some I had to steam. Some I am ignoring. Ha. Thankfully, no one got hurt!
Was this the Caramel Pumpkin Swirl candle? Because if it was, I think it’s the candle’s punishment for pretending to be a new candle when it was obviously the same candle as last year 😛 But seriously, how frustrating! Way to stay calm – I’m almost positive I would’ve just given up and cried, hahaha.
It was! And I think that is its punishment! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh, I’m SOOOOO glad that is candle wax! It definitely looked like poop, and I was afraid there had been a massive accident. That being said, what a huge pain to clean. I have a family member who always manages to get hot wax all over her face when she blows out a candle. We’re not sure how she does it, but it’s such a funny and weirdly endearing quality she has.
Ha, I would RATHER clean up poop than candle wax, but also, don’t want anyone to have to go through the experience that would result in poop looking like that.
