What I’m listening to on repeat 4
I have a whole list of more substantial blog posts ideas but it’s just that – a list of ideas! So you get fluff for your Friday (um, not that this blog is EVER more than that!)
I received some iTunes giftcards for my birthday so you know what that means – it’s back to buying songs*, baby!
I have a huge list of songs I want to buy, but the song I’m listening to on repeat is one that wasn’t even on my list – I saw it on the iTunes Top Songs List <— so basic
Imagine Dragons, “Natural” <— even more basic but whatever – I like popular music!!!
*Yes, yes, I know there are many streaming applications I can use “for free,” including Amazon Music, which I have, but do not use. I buy my music. And deal with the POS that is iTunes.
And more fluff – cat pics! I know that’s why you’re really here!
There is nothing wrong with liking popular music! There’s a reason why it’s popular, after all. Top 40 used to be just about all I would listen to, back in my pre-Broadway obsession days. And they play Imagine Dragons on the alternative station in Chicago, anyway, so it can’t be THAT basic 😛
True true! Do you listen to it at all now that you are on your Broadway kick?
Ha, good point! And I haven’t heard this song overplayed on the radio yet! 😉
Barely ever. My office building’s lobby usually plays popular music, and the gym has a tendency to, too, so I keep up on it that way, but that’s about it. Every now and again I’ll listen to Today’s Top Hits on Pandora, just to make sure I’m ~with it~, but that’s like…once a quarter. Ha.
Ha! Nice! You are fully devoted!!! Is this part of why you didn’t do Lolla this year?
Yes! Although I honestly didn’t realize that until, like, days before Lolla. Haha. I knew I didn’t have any interest in any of the artists playing, but I didn’t put the pieces together until right before the festival that the reason WHY I didn’t have any interest was because I don’t listen to much but Broadway anymore. Now, if one of the headliners had been the original cast of Hamilton, I would’ve been there in a heartbeat 😛
I have never heard of Imagine Dragons so I will have to give it a listen. (I just asked my son and he has heard of them of course – I am so out of the loop!)
We all use Spotify here – the kids have a “family” subscription and I use the free version, and we all like it.
Ha ha! Maybe when you hear one of their songs you will recognize them after all!
