Things I’m excited about in August!
- Getting the kittens, like, for real!

- Writing blog posts about all the fun we had in Iowa with my parents and Gina and fam
- Steven going on a trip with his fraternity brothers
- Seeing Anne when she’s in town for work
- Girls’ Birthday Weekend with Rachel and Kim
- A trip to KC to see Steven’s family and my snis and her family
- Seeing the new Mission Impossible film
- Relaxing and reading a few books? That would be nice!
I could also make a list of things I’m NOT excited about in August, which would mostly be work stuff, but, eh, I think we all have that on our lists!

I know, right? We have stuff every weekend until Labor Day, plus work travel and training and other crapola. Le sigh. Your August the same?!
Yes, unfortunately. I think I have one free weekend all month? It’s made worse by the fact that this is when the depths of marathon training start, so any semblance of free time on weekdays is mostly gone. I think I could handle having busy weekends a lot better if my whole month didn’t have to revolve around my training schedule. But, at least I know it’s coming after all the years following the same schedule, so while it’s not fun, it’s not unexpected and jarring, either.
Yeah, you know how to plan for it now, even though it stinks! I suppose September will be this way too?!
Somehow I managed to do all my training long runs for Grandma’s on Thursdays before work which opened up my weekends (and was nice) but left me SO drained after. All that training and still trying to be social and a functioning adult is HARD!

It actually isn’t because one of us/both of us are traveling every weekend except August 30/31. And have weekday plans in between. It’ll fly by! But we’ll have kittens!
