Random Thoughts Thursday 186
- We had such a relaxing Fourth! I worked out in the morning while Steven worked, then we grilled and chilled, including a NAP!!! We made tacos for dinner and watched Red Sparrow. It was a much welcomed relaxing day after not having any downtime last weekend.
- Data did not appreciate the fireworks we could hear from our house last night though. Poor little dude.
Data hiding in the closet
- I was gone three of the weekends in June, and had house guests for the other, so last weekend was the first weekend we were both home in a while. And we were BUSY – doing a bit of yard work, errands, and starting a backup sump pump project in the basement (we have two separate sump pumps and we’re installing back-ups to both). I was exhausted Sunday night, and grateful to have a day off in the middle of the week to chill.
- Khali has been my alarm clock lately! I like to wake up at 5:00 am, and every morning, she is on my chest at 5:00 am, purring and gently waking me up. (Except yesterday, when she thought I wanted to get up at 3:30 am…)
Ohhhhh Data looks so sad, hiding in the closet like that! I didn’t know cats had issues with fireworks. I’ve heard about that plenty of times with dogs, but I didn’t know some cats disliked fireworks, too. Though I suppose I don’t like all the booms when I don’t know where they’re coming from, either, so I guess it makes sense!
Yeah, it’s definitely more of a dog thing, and I was hoping it wouldn’t bother either of them, but as you can see, it did! He came out after a while, but would go back in there when it started again.
I’m so glad you had a chill 4th! It’s good to recognize when you’re run down and then to be intentional about time to relax and refuel. I’ve found (and it seems like you’re this way too) that I have to be really intentional about it, otherwise a bunch of little things pile up!
What did Khali think of the fireworks?
What did you think of “Red Sparrow”? I wasn’t very enticed by the trailer; it looked like there was the potential for grisly or very intense scenes.
Yes, I totally have to plan for it. I know myself so well, and what will set me off (and make me feel exhausted). I feel so happy when I can have my down time too.
Khali was chill with the fireworks! “Whatevs” – Khali. What did Bodger think of them?
YES, that. I had to look away a few times. I thought Jennifer Lawrence’s acting was great, but that the story was kind of all over, and it was too gory in parts for me!
Cats as alarm clocks are pretty efficient. It’s their stomachs that cause their wake up routines.
Yes! I seriously don’t set an alarm except on Fridays when I have to get up at 3:45!
