Two years later…
I finally did something I’ve been meaning to do since we moved to Zion two years ago…
I got a library card!
I’ve been reading more, and it doesn’t make sense for me to buy everything I want to read. To the library I go!

Yay!! Also know that often you can take out books from the library electronically!
I saw that when I was looking for the hard copy! How cool! Of course, I don’t have an ereader 😉
Get the reader apps on your smartphone. You don’t need an actual reader. Ask the library help desk for assistance. It’s what they do. Seriously!
Ahh, thanks! I may look in to that! I still prefer to read hard copies, but maybe I will get in to that 😉
Yay! I find using the library to be SO satisfying. It seems magical every time it “works.” We’ll have to start our book club soon.
I totally felt that way! Especially when I saw the huge blu-ray collection. Ha!
Yes! You pick the next book! 🙂
You inspired me to get a public library card! I haven’t bothered because I’m already a librarian at a university. But I have been reading more e-books and the costs are stacking up. So I just checked out an e-book from the library and was able to download it to my laptop. (Here, you just need the Kindle app, not necessarily an e-reader).
Yay! I am glad you did it and it’s going to save you money (and was so easy)!!!!!
I told my husband about the ebooks, and he got a library card, too! You are very influential.
That’s awesome! I hope you both enjoy using it!!!
And all because I told you to first read Into the Wild. Yay me!! 😉
Yes, thank you!
Hooray for the public library! I use my library a lot – it has a great collection of English novels. Are you going to read “Into the Wild”? Great book!
Awesome! What have you been reading lately?
Yes! That is what I picked up! So far I am enjoying it!
Yay for a library card! I 💜💜💜 the library and now we are within walking distance!! 🤓🤓
That is SO awesome that you are within walking distance! It’s fun to browse 🙂
Yay! My love for public libraries runs deep! I was at mine this weekend picking up a book I had on hold.
Aww, that’s awesome!!!!
I haven’t been the library in a long time (with a shorter commute, it takes me MUCH longer to read than it used to – no more two hours of reading time every day! Though it’s definitely a worthwhile price to pay), but when I was going to the library more regularly, I remember every time I’d go to the library downtown, I was just ASTOUNDED that I could check out any book in circulation there for FREE. Even though I haven’t been to the library in awhile, I’ve used my card regularly to unlock online-only resources, and it’s amazing! I love the library so much!
I felt that way too! Like, I can take ANY OF THESE THAT I WANT?! FOR A MONTH?!?!?!?!?!! It is truly an amazing resource! And yay for shorter commutes!!!
Yay for library books! And maybe you can rent some bad movies there too? I was just talking to Terry about getting library cards here a couple weeks ago! I had a Chicago library card right when I moved there in 2004, then moved again (this is my recurring life theme) and in the shuffle lost 2 library books for a couple of years and found myself in poor library standing. I can’t imagine how much money I must owe since I still have those books (they were 2005 career guides, ha! super useful).
Yes! I can! They have a lot of movies, and I actually picked one up on Saturday!
Ha, I wonder if they have been increasing the fine on those since then!!! I hope you get cards there!
