What I’m currently listening to on repeat 1
I always have at least one new-to-me FAVORITE song that I am listening to on repeat. And I’d like to share those! <— hence the optimistic “1” in the title indicating this may be a repeating series.
Right now, it’s Erin Bowman’s “Good Time Good Life,”
and Rita Ora’s “Anywhere.”
It’s funny I am sharing music videos, because hearing new music for the first by seeing its video usually makes me not care for it (at first). It gives it a different context than had I just heard it. I usually search for new music by listening to it only, on iTunes. Or I watch a dance clip on instagram or Facebook, and look up the song from the clip (that is how I found “Good Time Good Life” – on the Fitness Marshall’s page).
But blogs are visual and I don’t want to just list titles and make you have to look them up, ha!
So give them a listen! And maybe close your eyes, if you have the same issue as me, ha. (Although the first one is just a lyrics video!)
And let me know what YOU are listening to on repeat!
I really need to freshen up my music so I’ll check these out. I stream a Chicago radio station in the morning (radio here is shockingly bad for a city with a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in it) then alternate between a couple Pandora stations that play the same stuff for the rest of the day. Even my “new” running playlists aren’t that new. Sigh.
I always thought it was strange that big city stations play the same songs over and over and I’d have to go to my hometown to hear something new on the radio, lol!!! I hope you find some new tunes! Check out “Lemon” by N.E.R.D. & Rihanna and “No Name” by NF too. Good running music.
Thanks, I’ll check those out too! The best radio station I’ve ever listened to was alternative rock based out of Detroit/Windsor Canada. Loved it when I was in high school and college, since Toledo is close enough to get it. And now when I’m able to listen to it, it still sounds like it’s the late 90’s/early 2000’s LOL
So… sounds perfect for you!!! 😀 😀 😀
I love that first song! Happy and peppy and I could run to it. Thanks for the recommendations!
You’re welcome! I am glad you like it! I really like the first song for that too. I also thought it worked well in fitness boxing class. Happy Friday!
I checked out both songs! I am so behind the times on current music, thanks for the suggestions. It’s interesting that watching the video makes you less interested in the song at first. What about the context of watching it makes you dislike the song at first? Is it because videos are usually kind of silly?
I get most of my new music from YouTube video suggestions, and let’s be honest, it’s almost all K-pop right now (And basically every new Ed Sheeran song because he’s trolling me). So many of those videos are visual, so I think the song + video go hand in hand. Harrison and I were actually just talking about this one song that was SUPER popular in Korea when we visited. When we heard it like 28390438902 times in Korea, we were kind of like “Meh,” but now it has grown on us. For me, it was watching the video actually that was the turning point!
You’re welcome! If you want more suggestions, I have lots of current stuff!
I think when I hear a song only I give it my own context and meaning, and sometimes I don’t like what they’ve chosen to add to the video, so when it’s silly or vulgar or whatever, it makes me like it less!
It’s interesting that you are the opposite way and it helps you like some songs more! You will have to keep sending me K-pop suggestions. I played “Fire” in my Monday night class, and plan to do a “Fire” themed workout for fitness boxing next week (students have to stop what they are doing and do plyo/core when songs with “fire” in the title come on.)
Oh Ed Sheeran. You are everywhere.
