- All things holiday-related – the music, the Starbucks red cups, getting a real tree, shopping for (and making?!) presents…
- Dark evenings after Daylight Saving Time ends!
- The election being over!
- Christina’s baby shower!
- A Thanksgiving 5K! Our friends that we typically spend Thanksgiving with (and are this year, too, yay!) asked if we wanted to do a 5K and I was surprised when Steven said yes! He’s been training for a couple of weeks now (Steven and I used to run together, back in the day, so he’s not new to running).
- Cold weather! Maybe some snow?!?! Although, it would be nice if our first snow storm is NOT seventeen inches, like last year.
- Building an outdoor shelter for Khaleesi and Snow. And taking them to the vet (I know that is gonna suck, but I’ll feel better when it’s done).
- Wearing my “winter” work uniform – knee high boots, slim fit pants and … whatever top. Ha.
- More chili and stews and cold-weather food.
- Getting in 5K-training shape for my end of February race! I’ll likely use this plan again, and start training at the end of the year.
I agree with just about ALL of these! Especially #1 and #3 (OMG – election fatigue! It’s been about 18 months of non-stop campaigning. I want it to be OVER).
Ahh! The Starbucks cup is GREEN this year! My coworker brought it in.
I am happy we don’t have antenna/cable so we’ve seen LESS ads. We were at a hotel this weekend and every other ad was a political one! BARF!
That’s so cool that Steven is doing the Thanksgiving 5k with you 🙂 We’re always out of town over Thanksgiving so I never get to do a Turkey Trot. That’s great that you’re taking the two cats to the vet and building them a shelter. I hope it goes well!
Right? I am really proud of him! I wonder if he’ll want to stick with it after!
Do you travel to OH for Thanksgiving – am I remembering where your family is correctly? I bet you could find a local 5K – there are SO MANY on Thanksgiving!
I hope it goes well too 🙁 I think it might be a fiasco!
Yep, my family lives in Ohio but we alternate with Atlanta, where Mike’s family lives. I thought about looking for a local turkey trot, and we do have a rental car this year so this may be the year to try it 🙂 I just don’t want to disrupt the family festivities too much.
Do it! They’ll understand! Doesn’t Atlanta have a HUGE one on Thanksgiving? Or maybe I am just thinking of Peachtree.
Did I miss a post?! You changed the cat’s names?? Well I remember Snow, but Callie?? Can I still call her Callie lol
#3 Amen…i am so sick of it. I don’t even care who wins to tell you truth, it is really a no win situation in my mind.
It was last Thursday’s post! You can still call her that – we just changed the spelling to Khali LOL
So many people feel that way re: #3 🙁 It’s sucky 🙁
Yes to snow! I wasn’t able to x-country ski at all last year due to the lack of snow. I bet you’re looking forward to dusting off the snow shoes! 🙂
I am! There are plenty of places nearby I can use them! 🙂
Yes to No. 2 and No. 3! OMG.
Chili is definitely one of my favorite things about winter, so I can’t wait until it’s cold enough to eat it! Chili and cornbread is the absolute best winter meal in my mind 🙂
I’m also ready for the campaign to be OVER!!! But I am NOT ready for the dark and cold…bring on my SADD light!
