Chicago 2016
I’m so excited about Gina running the Chicago Marathon this year. I love hearing about her training (and doing some runs with her!), planning for their trip out here, getting ready to spectate, anticipating going to the expo, talking about what we are going to eat before and after the race… I can’t wait!
This will be the first time I’ve participated in Chicago Marathon activities since I ran it in 2010, and I am happy to be on the spectating side! Now, if we could get some actual fall weather going on for this race… Surely, the temperature could drop in the next eighteen days, right?!
I like spectating a big race, if it’s a planned spectation (is that a word?), not one caused by injury. How fun to get to do with with Gina! And I’m crossing my fingers for a nice cold front for her.
Yes – much better if you aren’t running cause you chose not to!!!
Anything will feel cooler than Dallas, but I really hope she gets a nice cool day!!!
I spectated the marathon in 2014 when Jessie ran it (it was her first). It’s such a cool atmosphere, and it’s so easy to get sucked into the excitement, especially when a close friend is running! Good luck to Gina!
Ahh, cool! Your comment made me wonder if us spectating it in 2009 was what made me want to run it in 2010! I can’t recall! 🙂
Yes, the temps can drop anytime now. Is it time to start getting nervous about the race day temps? 🙂
Ha! Not yet! Save that for week of 10/3 😉
Oh, I didn’t realize Gina was running it this year. Is she nervous? It’s not her first marathon though, right? Do you think spectating will make you wish you were running it at all?
I think she is a bit nervous because training in the heat of Dallas has been so hard. It’s her third marathon. Spectating marathons always makes me happy I am NOT running them. HA!
I’ve been a spectator at the Chicago Marathon and it is so much fun!!!
