I got to sit on my couch this weekend!
Granted, I would have liked to spend the entire weekend sitting on the couch, doing nothing, but a couple of hours Saturday and Sunday night was nice (and it was nice to get to workout both mornings!).
Since August 4, our living room has looked like this:
We spent some time moving things around on Saturday so we could actually sit on the couch (gasp!) and turn on the TV (double gasp!!!):
We’re in the final steps of getting ready to move back upstairs. On Friday we ordered new mattresses for both bedrooms (so we won’t be carrying the old ones back up there!). On Saturday we bought all the lighting trim kits and vent covers, as well as wall and floor trim (to replace damaged and missing pieces), and paint!
Then on Sunday, we prepped the rooms to be painted – took off hardware, face plates, etc., and got all the trim pieces ready to be installed. That took all afternoon. Blah.
A contractor is painting all week, then we can start moving back upstairs Friday night. I can’t wait!
Oh yay, I’m glad you were able to relax a little this weekend! And that you can move back upstairs on Friday! When is your new bed coming? 🙂
Saturday night! They don’t deliver on Friday, wah. LOL!
Oh wow! that is big, you will have an organized area completed soon 🙂 This may be a week you really want to fly!
Impressed – look how far you have come.
Hooray!
I am still amazed at everything you and your husband are doing to your house. I mean, I think it is great because it will be just how you want it. But, it is so much time for the both of you. I am exhausted just reading about it (insert smiling face) so I can imagine how you are feeling. I hope you rest this long weekend.
Thanks! We can rest easy now, knowing it IS how we want it. Contractors aren’t always the best about bringing up issues outside of their scope, and I can’t imagine how much we did that would NOT have got done. We moved back upstairs today! We have a busy Sunday and a restful Monday. Happy Labor Day!
OK, I knew you were living downstairs while this was happening, but I hadn’t imagined your set-up. I bet you are SO SO relieved. It’s so stressful to have your house torn apart and much harder to keep everything tidier!
Yes! I am! Everything feels tidy upstairs now, and we can start to clean the leaving room and put things away where they go and just not feel so disheveled! A messy house makes me feel meh!
