Notes:
- Last week I complained about runners not acknowledging each other on the Chicago Lakefront Trail… this week, it was all about too many tourists out around the museum campus, not paying attention to what they were doing! Ahh, tourist season. A good reminder for everyone to pay attention to their surroundings, especially if on an exercise path. And during commute time in busy areas. And… all the time. Please.
- I normally feel antsy not running my typical amount during taper, but this time, I felt so lazy and didn’t want to run at all. And this week, I tried to get extra sleep (I took a nap one day on lunch break, slept a bit after work another day, and used my Friday off for a nap! – maybe I was intuitively doing this?! (pdf here)). I’ve just felt so tired lately.
- So, yeah. Really lazy this week. Hopefully this is not a sign for how all of May will be!
Yay!!! Congratulations on a strong race at Wisconsin! I was thinking about you on Saturday morning when the weather at Cinco de Miler was so sketchy. Can’t wait to read your recap! And YES on all the tourists who are walking around, staring at their phones, not paying attention to anything around them – especially on the lakefront path. Some of the hardcore cyclists come so close to mowing them down it’s scary!
Thanks for thinking of me! I hope you had a good race! 🙂
It really surprises me how oblivious people are – wouldn’t you always pay attention when walking on a public path in a busy area? Guess not! 😉
ha! funny, I said hi to someone this morning and they completely ignored me…there is rarely anyone out in the wee hours when I run, it boggles my mind someone will completely ignore me. The second and only other person i passed scared me, she was running in a heavy sweat shirt and pants! It is to hot for that! I kept looking for police lights to see if anyone was chasing her lol
I love that you rested and got a massage 🙂
How rude!!! 😛 I wonder if they had headphones on and didn’t hear you? 🙁 Lame town.
Ha! I see people running in stuff that looks too warm to me, too, and wonder why they are dressed like that! Some people are very cold runners 🙂
