Need more gaiters!
This:
Ha ha. Steven’s response.
But, OMG, so many rocks in our shoes ALL THE TIME. Construction in the house, having a crushed stone driveway, running on trails (for me)… we can’t escape it!
We needz MOAR gaiters!!!
Because it would totally be normal to just wear them all the time, right?! Ha. I at least need another pair for running. And they’re already on my birthday wishlist (yeah, even though my birthday is in July, I add things to my wishlist throughout the year)!
We actually will need water gaiters (well, waders) soon. Our pond is a mess and we’d like to clean it out!
Aww, sniff, sniff, where are you, Betty?!
lol… the bit about putting rocks in your shoes is pretty funny! I somehow manage to get rocks in my shoes all the time, even when it seems like there shouldn’t be rocks around at all. I’d never even heard of gaiters before so I apparently need to look into those.
He really made me laugh!
OMG, gaiters are a LIFE SAVER on crushed stone trails! Here are the ones I put on my wishlist: http://www.amazon.com/Salomon-Trail-Gaiters-Black-9-5-12/dp/B008JFEFJA?ie=UTF8&colid=C9KG7LPYMWCH&coliid=I27FQ3KBI97A7Y&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl
And the ones in the pic are a gift from a friend from here: https://dirtygirlgaiters.com/
Get some!!!
Hahaha, I just literally LOL’d at Steven’s response.
There’s more often than not chunks of kibble stuck to the bottom of my socks because Heidi is such a messy eater, so I can kind of relate. Like, what if I was walking around the house and didn’t feel something stab my foot???
Hee hee!
Then something would be VERY, VERY!!!!!! wrong! 😀
Yes, heaven forbid she not save 5-10 pieces for later each time! 🙂
I admire her reserve! 🙂
I’m going to save that link for the gaiters – when we visit our son in NC and run on the trails, I end up with rocks in my shoes for months afterward. Souvenier? LOL
Ha ha. Definitely a souvenir and a reminder to come back! 😛
Hahah I just adore Steven’s sense of humor.
But…but…the ones on your wish list don’t have funky pin up girls on them! hahaha
Lish’s trail shoes that she used last weekend had the option of buying the corresponding gaiters, which she did. They attached directly to a clip that is part of the shoe. I thought it was pretty neat!
Me too 🙂
I know! I decided to ask for some that snap on the bottom so I don’t have to keep using duct tape. OR… I could dedicate a pair to trail shoes and put the velcro on 😉 I am being lazy. But the duct tape’s been working well.
That’s a fantastic idea!!!!
I don’t own gaiters. Are they annoying? Rocks are annoying but I don’t get too many. I just would think they might rub around the ankle. I just have never gotten any because I don’t get many pebbles and such in my shoes. Maybe someday as I want to increase my trail running later this year.
They aren’t annoying. The ones I have in the photo aren’t, anyway! They’re soft and don’t rub. You do have to get used to them, like higher socks! I hope you have shoes free of rocks on your trail runs! 🙂
I have to admit I had no idea what gaiters were.
Rocks in shoes is soooooo annoying. I hate getting sand in my shoes. It doesn’t happen very often but when it does, you can never fully get it out. Ever.
That’s ok! Most people think of these kind when you say gaiters, but the thing you wear around your neck (also called a buff) is a “neck gaiter.” That is also a running clothing fall/winter/spring staple for me!
Ugh! Sand is the worst! I ran a trail race last July and my trail shoes STILL have sand from that race in them. I hate the way it feels under my socks!
I think the gaiters look cool. Get loads of them
I like the gaiters! Are you going to put a filter in the pond, we have one that runs in the neighborhood pond and it seem to help with the muck and bug population.
Yes! We definitely need to put some sort of filter in. Steven has seen a few how tos on homemade ones! Not sure which route we’ll go yet!
