Notes:

  • I really should have written that the highlight of the week was getting a sports massage on Wednesday, because the massage felt AMAZING. I got it in preparation for a 5K PR attempt, and have another one scheduled for next month, the week of the Dallas Marathon (if I decide to run it – I will probably get the massage either way, ha!).
  • This was a peak week in marathon training and my legs were a bit trashed for my two long runs. They didn’t hurt, I just didn’t have any pep in my step. Next week is a cutback week – phew!
  • On Saturday, I hit my goal of running 2000 miles for a year! It’s nuts! When I thought of this goal at the end of December last year, and that I’d have to average 40 mile weeks, it seemed like a lot, but actually… it really hasn’t been! I wonder how many miles I’ll end with for the year!

What a great week and look at all those miles! But wasn’t the weather amazing for the frigging middle of Nov? I loved it!

  2. Rachel says:

5k PR!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo! Congrats! So proud of you!

  3. Jen2 says:

It’s funny to see the difference in your attire throughout the week!!

    • kilax says:

Ha ha! I wore a jacket for my Monday morning walk, and every run was in a tank, except the run on Saturday – I wore a t-shirt. 🙂

  4. Anne says:

Our walk seems like such a long time ago! We need to do that again.

I meant to ask toy about the 5k today. Congrats on the PR!!

    • kilax says:

Yeah! Do you want to meet again next Monday? This week is stupid busy for me (downtown three days for training).

Thank you! I meant to ask how you’re running had been going, but didn’t want to interrupt the serious movie 😉

  5. Erin says:

Look at that 5K time!! That’s so awesome. Great job!

Is it nice having more of the trail done now for your long runs?

    • kilax says:

      Thanks!

Yeah – the connection helps. I ran that trail before, but when they were building the tunnel, the construction made it so I couldn’t get there by foot, so it’s really nice to get to it safely, now!

  6. Mica says:

Congrats on hitting 2000; that’s awesome! Are you going to set the same or a different goal for 2016?

I didn’t realize you were running Dallas (or planning to). I must have missed that and thought you weren’t training for a long race right now. I was reading your stats for the week and thinking, “Wow, Kim runs SOOOO MUCH in her off season!” I mean, you do run a lot all the time haha.

Congrats on the 5K PR! Do you ever get a celebratory massage? Or just pre-race massages?

    • kilax says:

Yeah, I will probably set a different goal for 2016, if I have one at all 🙂

You didn’t miss it! This is the first time I have mentioned Dallas 🙂

Thanks! Just pre-race massages this season. Sometimes I get a post-race one though!
