What is it with stray grays?

Nope, not a post about my hair. Ha!

We’re checking in on our neighbor’s cats while they’re out of town, and when we were locking up last night, a random gray cat showed up at the front door all “Meow, b*tches, let me in!”

“Um… you don’t live here, cat.”

What is it with stray grays? That’s how we found Data!

I asked the next door neighbor if she’d ever seen this cat. Nope. The catย was playful and friendly, so I hope he was just out for an evening stroll, and is back at home now. If we see him again in the next few days though, he’s coming home with us… so we can take him to the local no-kill shelter. Data is an only child (who lives like a king)!

Awww, how cute! Are you sure Data doesn’t need a buddy? ๐Ÿ™‚

Do people micro-chip cats like they do dogs?

UGH. I hope you find the owner, but have to say it drives me crazy when people let their cats go outside unattended in heavily populated residential areas like this. (As-in, I’m okay with it at a house that’s wooded – like m&d.) Animal lovers like us get really concerned when we see a friendly unattended cat. There are a lot of people who wouldn’t be as nice as we are to little kitties like this. We nearly sent our neighbors cat (at our old house) to the no-kill shelter because we thought it was a friendly stray. Nope they just let her out to wander around our super populated, near a highway and a busy street neighborhood. I can’t imagine ever letting Dex out and not knowing/caring where she is or what she’s up to…. Sorry, end rant. ๐Ÿ™‚ Cute kitty!

It really bugged me too, snis ๐Ÿ™ ESPECIALLY THAT HE HAD NO COLLAR!!! There are a few other houses that let their cats out in that area and I am so worried they are going to get hit by a car.

That reminds me of the time my sister-in-law took in what she thought was a stray, took it to the vet, had it neutered and put a collar on it. It was so used to being outside, though, that it kept crying at the door to go out. She finally let it out and got a call a few hours later from someone in their subdivision asking why she had put a collar on their cat!

  4. Cute! Such a pity you couldn’t keep it

Aww! I love my gray tortie and she is an only child too.

I initially thought this post was about gray hairs. Maybe that’s on mymind since I thought I saw a CB hair on my head only to realize it was connected to my scalp ๐Ÿ™ what a cute little guy. He seems too social to be a purely feral cat. For the reasons the CB will remain an only child, I won’t suggest taking him home to Dates ๐Ÿ˜‰

LOL! I got my first gray on Christmas Day, last year, and have had a few since then. But eh… we all go gray eventually, right? At least we still have hair?!!?!ac

If he’s still there, we will take him in. Do you know if it’s a boy or girl? This breaks my heart.

  8. Karen says:

ha! You know they always find my hubby lol
True story, this morning while running in the dark I heard a meow, a little cat was running toward me, somehow they just know how to find cat people lol

  9. Mica says:

What a sweet kitty! I hope you didn’t see him/her again, meaning that I hope s/he was just out for a stroll to greet you. ๐Ÿ™‚
