Too good to be true
Darn, 6pm.com, why you gotta toy with my emotions like that?!
It would have been a steal to get my running shoes for $20!
The message reads: We apologize for being unable to add ASICS Women’s Gel-Cumulus 16 Turquoise/Sharp Green/Navy Sneaker 12 B – Medium to your cart. It is no longer available.
Actually, they could have been a holiday gift for my mom – she wears the same shoe and size as me, and that way she could be twinzies (quadruplies?) with me, Grandma and Christina (we all have them in this color).
No dice, though.
For sh*ts and giggles, I emailed 6pm.com to ask them about the error message. Ha, had I not sent the email myself, I would have thought their response was spam, with how poorly written it was (and oddly complimentary to me). Basically, the gist was that they are no longer available, and I should buy a more expensive pair (even though they were still listed at $20 for 24 hours after that response).
Hee hee hee, I know, I know – I am being greedy! But as a heavier runner with an odd landing style, my shoes don’t last very long, so I stock up! One time I found them for $45 a pair. Maybe that will happen again!
On a different shoe note, I am totally NOT in to dress shoes. I cleaned out my closet this weekend and gave a ton to Goodwill, and tossed quite a few pairs, and still feel like I have too many.
But you can never have too many pairs of running shoes.
I stock up too! I hate when websites false advertise!
This is the first time it’s happened to me! I was so surprised when I clicked to add it to my cart and it didn’t work! LOL
Every time my Hokas go on clearance at Running Warehouse, I get all excited, until I click on my size. No go…too. I think I must wear the most average-sized running shoe, because I can never find them on clearance!
(Of course, you know Ima have to check 6pm.com now…) 😉
Ugh, that stinks! It’s like they should advertise price per size. Ha ha! I hope you find something. You can sign up here for alerts on low shoe prices – http://shoekicker.com/. That is how I knew about this!
Thanks for the tip on shoekicker! 🙂
I have to admit I totally just went to 6pm to see if I could get them. Now they are gone completely. Whomp. I would have bought 6 pairs! I always feel like I should support my local running store because they do great things for the running community, but I just can’t bring myself to pay $40-$60 for the same shoes I can get online!
Ha ha ha, do you wear size 12s, too? That was all they were available under. And one pair. But really, no pair. Ha! I will have to let you know if I ever find them for a steal, again. With how fast I go through them, I don’t want to get them at my running store. I know, it’s horrible, but I’d spend $600-$800 more on them a year, if I did 🙂
Thankfully I don’t wear a 12 since I am only 5’2″!
Ha! It doesn’t show up on the pic, but the $20 price was for 5.5 (but said not available), 11.5 (also not available) and 12.
I was hoping to find another pair of my shoes on sale since Asics is coming out with the next line in November. No such luck, so I had to order a pair through my LRS, full price. Ouch, but at least I’ll have a new pair so I don’t have to go out and get the new line right away.
Darn! Better to have them, even if they are more $$$, though!
Awh man, that is such a bummer. They did that on Amazon once to me, where it was “deal of the day” but when I clicked on the link, they were out of stock! Have you looked at TJ Maxx before for running shoes? I’ve seen Asics (not sure which ones though) there before!
That stinks!
I haven’t looked – I don’t like to shop in stores, lol. If I am ever there, I will see if they have them. It’s rare stores carry a size 12 though, it seems :-/
I hate when websites pull pranks on us like that. Advertising is such a farce! It reminds me of the airlines, where they say “We’ve got an airfare sale! Prices starting as low as $0.99!” Then, when you go to look for those fares, you can never find them and/or they are only for things like a flight to the middle of nowhere on a Wednesday afternoon. GRRRRRRR.
Ha ha ha! Those airline deals never seem to work for me, either. I don’t mind the weird days, but they never go anywhere I want to go! Wah wah wah! 😉
I’m reading these Asics posts backwards. Now I know where the $20 deal mention came from.
