So adult. Much wow. Very new.
Steven and I have been upgrading some furniture items in our home – new chairs, a new entertainment center, an actual headboard for our bed, new lamps, a few other things…
We were both commenting on how it makes our house feel much more “adult.” And how much we like it. AND WHY DID IT TAKE US SO LONG TO MAKE THESE CHANGES?!?!
Ha, it’s not like we had a house full of dorm furniture. It was just missing some finishing touches here and there.
Steven hypothesized that we were being lazy. I hypothesized that we had other priorities – other things we’d rather spend our money on.
But we both did agree, that when we move, we’ll make the effort for the house to feel this way from the get go!
Where did you get your headboard from? I love it! And I’m in the market 🙂
It’s from Amazon! Thanks!

I was going to ask the same thing! Thanks for the link!
You’re welcome! 🙂
I love the headboard! It’s so pretty. I definitely can relate to this post. We’ve been in our house for over 4 years and have so much left to do!!!
Thanks! 🙂
Yeah, I wonder if people ever feel “done.” And everyone has a different idea of what is “finished” to them! 🙂
When I bought my sleeper sofa in April, I felt so grown up. I wasn’t sure I liked it though. The rest of my furniture is IKEA so it’s the best piece of furniture I have.
It takes time for stuff like that! And things like headboards don’t seem as fun (or, often, important) to spend money on as other stuff.
Love it. I’m trying to do a little adulting to myself. I painted the dining room but have zero art up. I’m looking to switch out some furniture and put up some framed posters from races (Flying Pig, Fort4Fitness).
That will look really cool! What color did you paint it?
Listen, we’ve been married for decades now and still do things that feel “adult” – maybe it never goes away for some of us, LOL! Love the whole look – headboard, wall color, drapes, etc. Nice choices!
I bet you are right!!!!!!!! 🙂 Thank you!
Same here and we’re pushing 50…some of us just never really grow up, do we? 😉
Life’s better that way 😉
I never want to do anything to our apartment because it’s just a rental and we’re always a lease renewal away from not being able to afford it anymore. I’m looking forward to the day when we can buy NICE furniture and nice decorations, etc and know it’ll be worth it. Sometimes I still feel like I live in my college dorm.
