May the fourth be with you!
With Star Wars Day being an in-office day, I had to conceal my celebration*, a bit.
But I made sure 3PO and R2 are close to my heart!
Hee hee.
I’ve been a Star Wars fan for eighteen years – since the re-release of the originals in 1997. But! Never fear, we had VHS copies of the originals to watch, so I do know that Han shot first. Ha ha.
Have you ever become interested in a movie or series way after its prime?
It’s been fun to see my oldest nephew get in Star Wars, Back to the Future and Grease. Ha, it gives me something to talk to him about, because I definitely don’t keep up with SpongeBob SquarePants.
*Since I don’t have this
You look great! love the pin 🙂
I am so old I saw the original in theaters and I went a few times with friends! I loved the original, it was magical, not much had been in theaters like it back in the day!
I almost wish I could have seen it for the first time then, to experience how cool the technology was. It holds up, still (imho) but it’s not so novel anymore!
I loved Star wars as a kid, but got away from it for many years. My hubby LOVES Star Wars, so I am sure we will be discussing the 4th at some point today! LOL!
Ha! I bet you will get a happy fourth wish from him! I have already received a ton of texts and a few emails, even. LOL.
I got interested in the new Battlestar Galactica and the rebooted Doctor Who after the fact. The former well after it had run its course on TV and the latter about six seasons in. I watched through all of BSG but have since given up on the Doctor because I became burned out.
May the Fourth be with you, too.
I watched the new BSG a few years after the final episode too. I like just watching the series in one fell swoop, hee hee. 🙂
May the fourth be with you too!
The first movie I remember seeing in the theater when I was a kid was Return of the Jedi 🙂 I remember feeling so special because I was a “big kid” and my baby brother wasn’t allowed to go. Needless to say, it has always had a special place in my heart. I’m really excited about the new movie coming out. I didn’t get into Firefly/Serenity until after it was off the air. But I enjoy binge watching things like that so maybe its better that way anyway.
Aww, that is an awesome memory! Your first film! How cool!
I enjoy the binge watch too. I don’t want to wait for a new show. I lose interest and forget what is going on. LOL.
Like Karen, I saw the original Star Wars in the movie theater with my family, in 1977 I think. It was such a big hit; that crazy Star Wars music was all over the radio. I refuse to call it The New Hope or whatever.
Ha ha ha. You don’t believe in the name they later added on once they saw it was a hit?
That pin is so cute!! But I do think you need the scarf 🙂
Ha! At first I thought you meant the scarf I was wearing, to cover my chest. Cause I do need that one! But yes, the R2 one, too! 🙂
Oh my gosh! I didn’t even think about that! No, no, I definitely meant the R2 scarf!
Fun!! I am not a huge SW fan but I have seen all of the movies, and we made a point to see the new releases in the theater.
I saw this slogan all over FB yesterday and it made me think of you!
Love the pin!!! Nice, subtle way to celebrate. =)
By the way – can you show me how you tied your scarf like that? It looks fabulous!
Thanks!
Yes! It’s similar to this – http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/blog/diy/scarves-how-to-tie-a-pretzel-knot. Minus the twist in step 3 and the knot in step 6. I’d love to see if you try it! I love scarves so much, a friend of mine actually got me a book for xmas with different ways to tie your scarf!
Cute pin! I remember watching Star Wars as a kid, but didn’t really get into it until the re-releases either. I think the originals were on TV constantly, so my brother and I were always watching those. Over and over….
I feel like I got into “Jurassic Park” really late because I was too afraid to watch it when it actually came out. (Can’t wait for “Jurassic World”!) I also got into “Lost” a few seasons in, which made me feel like I was realllly behind.
Did you have to hide your pin because of a work dress code?
Ha! That is so fun! That just means you had to wait less time between seeing the originals and the new one, then! 🙂
I had to hide the pin because of a client meeting. We have a very lenient dress code 🙂
