Now it feels like spring is here…
We got our first taste of severe storms for the season last night. Steven took this photo before the rain and hail started. Luckily, there wasn’t any damage in our area, but my heart goes out for those in central Illinois who had it much, much worse.
We really got lucky, didn’t we?
We sure did. The sirens were going off in the towns around where we live, and I know it was much worse in McHenry county, which we are right next to. How was it around you?
Cool pic Stefano!!
His first lightning pic! 🙂
Eerie…very Harry Potter-esque. Glad you had no damage.
OMG awesome photo! I so wish I could take photos of lightning. Thunderstorms are my favorite.
Have you ever tried? Out of 40+ shots, only two caught lighting!
We’ve entered that time of year too. We haven’t had any severe storms yet but it’s only a matter of time.
Wow, that is a gorgeous pic! Is he a photographer?
I was actually down in Kenosha last night for an alumni event at Carthage. In the middle of the event we had to move into the hall because of the tornado warnings. I remember talking to the current poli sci students but being distracted and mesmerized by the lightening over Lake Michigan outside the windows. Such a tragedy about those less fortunate – I love and hate storm season at the same time.
Aww, thanks! Not by profession – it’s a hobby (that he is really in to 🙂 ).
Oh gosh! I bet it did look so neat over the lake!
I was watching the news this am and saw the devastation in Fairdale and Rochelle. Gah. It’s horrible.
We’ll be running to Carthage in three weeks!
We’ve been under a tornado watch for about 3 days straight now. My city was fine, but just west of us there was terrible flooding and a lot of damage. Stupid spring.
WHOA! That is crazy! Three days?! Man. I bet some people are freaking the eff out!
Wow, that’s an amazing photo but scary at the same time! I’ve been seeing about all the tornados and extreme weather on the news. Im glad to hear you haven’t had to deal with it directly.
Ooh, awesome photo, Steven! Glad you guys didn’t get any damage. I’m thinking of everyone affected by the tornadoes in other parts of the state, too. It stinks that we have no way to control things like tornadoes. Hopefully they’ll get all the help they need to get their lives put back together.
Awesome photo!! But super sad about that tornado. Those are so scary 🙁
Awesome shot!
Whoa, that’s intense! Harrison always talks about how much he misses summer thunderstorms. (Or spring thunderstorms, I guess.) I used to get scared about tornadoes every time, so I don’t miss them, ha!
I was thinking about you that night, and how much tornadoes freaked you out!
