Notes:
- My calves (and usually the right, more than the left) have been getting sore on and off since June. I thought it was from riding my bike – that I over power with my calves and need to be re-fitted – but then I was doing a strength move this Friday and really felt it, so maybe that’s it! I still think I will get fitted for my bike again. I wonder if I can fit it in before RAGBRAI? Hee hee.
- It was so nice to have a “cool” run with Anne on Tuesday night! It was still in the high 70s but the humidity was so low, I felt great! I hope we have a few more days like that this summer. Wishful thinking! We did our run at a local (to me) forest preserve that had a free concert that night, and the concert ended up being a Beatles cover band! I really enjoyed it! What is your favorite Beatles song?
- Gosh. This trail race Rachel in I did on Saturday was so much freaking fun. And so freaking challenging, too. It’s definitely the most technical trail I’ve ever done!!! Running it really made me want to hit up more trails !!! (but then I think about how much longer it takes me to run them and wonder where I’ll ever find the time, ha ha!)
That does look like a tough one!! Trails are definitely slower but they are such a fun different experience.
Wow! Killer trail.
Are you running RnR Chicago this coming weekend? I’ll be in town and would love to get meet up if you’re around.
I am not running it. 🙁 I have plans to be out of town but they might be canceled. What is your schedule like?
Getting into town hopefully around 11 or 12 on Saturday. Hitting the expo and doing some shopping. Can leave whenever on Sunday after the race.
Ahh, cool, are you driving in? I will let you know if I end up being around! 🙂
Yep. Driving in with my daughter. She’s running the 5k.
Around here, anything with dirt on it is considered a trail. Your trail looks infinitely more fun (and lots harder, of course!).
Dirt is trail, too! Just less technical! 🙂
Wow, that trail race does look super challenging! I’m glad you guys enjoyed it. I think I might have been too worried about falling the whole time.
That is why we took some of it soooo slow. People were running down the rocky downhills and it blew our minds!
When I look at that pictire my hamstrings automatically start burning again. 🙂 SO MUCH FUN!
I’m not sure what a pictire is….zzzzzzzzzz
I think that is what they take of the ball players at Fenley. 😉
Ohhh! Isn’t their stadium next to where the Bears play?
I think so! 🙂
I think you’ll get your wish for more cool weather this week!
That would be great!
Trail running is so pretty, but SO HARD for me to do (as you saw when we ran together last year, haha). I’m too clumsy for rocks and roots and things that can make you fall down and go boom.
Ummmm…I’d like to invite myself for one of your future “run to a concert” activies 🙂 How fun!
I’ll let you know if we go again! We’ve been so nutso busy this summer. I hope we do get a chance to go to another concert! 🙂
