One week until Christina and Will’s wedding!

By , June 7, 2014 3:26 pm

I’m feeling…

surprised at how quickly the time has passed from the start of the year to the wedding. But I probably say that every year, about most things.

… relieved my dress still fits. I’ve been trying it on periodically, but hey, you never know!

It’s a lovely little photoshopped number.

… panicked that I don’t have my matron of honor speech done. Lots of ideas floating around in my head (and in google doc drafts) but nothing I’m in love with yet. Have you ever given a speech at a wedding? What inspired you?

… ecstatic to see family and friends come together to support Christina and Will (and to PAR-TAY!)!

… emotional to see my little snis as a bride!

… and proud of all of the hard work and planning she has done for the wedding.

… sad already, for when it’s all over.

… excited to see my snister tomorrow and ask how she feels. Who gives a crap what I am thinking about!

OH! And one last feeling. Another relieved for a week from now when I can quit worrying about tan lines, mosquito bites, and getting owies

Awh! You’re so sweet! The last one made me lol! Can’t wait to see you tomorrow and for next weekend! It will definitely go by too fast!

I am happy it made you LOL! I was trying to be funny. I realize it shouldn’t be so hard for a grown woman not to look a mess! 🙂

Leaving soon to see you! :-*

I have given a speech. Twice. Humor inspired. I’ve been told by many people that one of those speeches is still the beast speech they’ve ever heard at a wedding.

I was the maid of honor at the wedding of my best friend to my oldest brother. The speech I gave talked about how when I was little, Mark would always look out for me, and now I’m so happy to know that he found someone who truly looks out for him. Of course I said it much more eloquently and with some examples of how they each did/do that. But it was short and sweet and from the heart and reflected well on both of them.

Aww, that is sweet! Short and sweet will be what I go for, too. No one really wants to listen to these things… for very long. 😉

Yay for your sister getting married!!

When I first looked at the post I thought that WAS your dress. I kept thinking…”it looks a bit weird, but okay…” Then I realized you photoshopped it!! You should’ve been way more fun, like draw silly things…haha!

I’ve never given a speech any where. Well in speech class in college, and that was always a disaster! I hate getting in front of people to talk! Good luck!

Ha ha ha! Next time I will try to photoshop something better. Did you see the current photoshop mastery that is my cover photo on Facebook? Ha.

I don’t mind getting up in front of people! Just want to say something worthwhile 🙂

I gave the speech at my friends wedding last September and even though I was nervous as all hell, it went over so well. I wrote down some notes…winged it a little and just had fun with it. I mixed some serious with funny and just made it my own.

I have been reading your blog now for like what, 5 years? Please…you have this speech nailed!!! (Well, you will, once you write it!!)

    • kilax says:

I think that is what I will end up having – a rough draft and some winging 🙂 And funny and serious.

Hee hee, thanks! I actually just went through the photos I have on here of me and my sister and it brought up a bunch of ideas. So I think I am on the right path! 🙂 Thank heavens for blog documentation!
