- Some of the photos Steven took at the Frosty Footrace are featured in the April issue of Chicago Athlete! The editor reached out to me because of my blog, and Steven and I went through the photos and sent some in. It was really exciting to see which were picked (and that the Essential Fitness logo is so prominent!), and for Steven’s name to be credited in the publication! A few years ago Runner’s World asked me for my photos of the Corn Maze 5K, and I uploaded them to their server… and eagerly awaited the magazine to hit the newsstand… and the photos weren’t used. I was a bit bummed. So, yay, redemption! And I must say, it really makes me happy that Steven loves taking photos and gets in to taking them at races. (click image below to see larger)
- Ooo, speaking of redemption! This weekend is Gina‘s husband’s (Steve) redemption half marathon (Dallas RnR), after the short course at the Texas Half in February! Gina kicked butt at her redemption race, and I know Steve will as well! I can’t wait to hear all about it. I love hearing about their runs, and races, and visits to the running store, and Luca cheering on the runners, TELL ME EVERYTHING… hee hee.
- Speaking of Texas… I am planning to go there next month. And trying another half, with Gina, the day after her birthday! I wonder if that will be my next race. I don’t have anything planned for this month, and the few things I was looking at in April are really tentative. Eh. This might be a year of “less” races. Ha. That doesn’t mean less races = higher quality though! Ha ha ha.
- I really need to get better at sorting laundry when mine is mixed with other people’s. I am sure you remember the pink sock incident (not to be confused with this one), where my sock accidentally found itself in Andrew’s care and he held it ransom?!?! Sigh. I still have nightmares about that. That poor sock. Anyway. Gina told me awhile ago that she somehow ended up with a bra of mine, from when she was here in December. We both wear black Champion bras (just different sizes… but very close), so it makes sense. I am not sure why it did not occur to me to see if I had her bra, but sure enough, I do, and have been wearing it. Here is the thing – if I wear your clothes, to work out in… um. You don’t want them back. Sorry, Gina! I owe you a bra!
- People have been getting Christina’s party invites and RSVPing! EXCITING! It greatly amused me to make this adjustment to the back of my maternal grandma’s invite. Kohl!
- This was my first time using Shutterfly for something like this (I have only used them to print photos before). I was really pleased with the product!
- This post is FULL of links. And if you are like me, you hover over a link before clicking on it, then look in the status bar (bottom left) of your browser to see what that link is. Well, guess what has NOT been working on Chrome for a long time? That link hover over thingy. Sigh. It’s making me nuts. I keep looking up how to fix it, and can’t figure it out (this isn’t working). Wah! Maybe I should uninstall and reinstall Chrome. It’s making me nuts. And I know this is completely boring, but I am sharing it in case someone else knows how to fix it. Ha!
- The other day I was venting to my mom about something that bugged me, and she gave me amazing advice that gave me the power to take control of the situation. I really needed that reality slap. Friends! Family! I have been a turd lately! Continue to give those to me (reality slaps, not turds)!

I super duper love that bridal shower invitation. It’s so pretty and modern. I also love the “Kohl.”
Also, you look like a bad ass in that photo in the magazine. I always look like such a turd running.
Thanks! I am happy you like it! It was a surprise to my snister which one I picked out and I was very pleased when she told me she loved it.
KOHL! Let’s start a trend of calling it that. Or not.
Whatevs! I have seen some badass pics of you. psssh
LOVE the invitation!!!
That is all 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
That is such a great picture of you! And I was thinking, too, about how cool it was to see EFit displayed so prominently 🙂
I adore shutterfly. I can usually find a decent discount code, and I find their stuff so well made. I made my Dad a case for his iphone for his birthday and it turned out SO nice!
Hmmmm…my linky hover thing is working. I wonder if it’s something in an unrelated setting of yours. And Steven and I decided that if something IT isn’t working, turn it off and then turn it back on. If that doesn’t work, I got nuthin.
Are you thinking about southshore this year? Or is that TX weekend?
Thanks! 🙂
I have received a few gifts from there that are super cool and it’s making me think I should use it more! What was on your dad’s iphone case?
Ha! Do you use Chrome now?!!?!? Are you going to start with feedly soon? I have turned off and on. I think I shall try the unistall and reinstall, later. It stopped working at work, too!
Yeah, Rachel and I are tentatively planning on South Shore then hitting up the diner after that serves some vegan food. You in?
It was a really nice pic of the kids from our family pic session last fall. I’ve done our Christmas cards from them most years (except this year we used walgreens because I got a bunch free).
I AM using Chrome. It took some getting used to, but I like it. I don’t see a feed reader in my future tho, hahaha.
I am SO in!
Cool! 🙂
Bobbi, I am so proud. Sniff, sniff. :'(
Yay!
Super cute invite! Hahaha Kohl!
Speaking of Texas, I am headed there tomorrow! Wheee!
How awesome Steven’ pics were used. RW has asked me for stuff and never printed as well. Probably SOP.
Schweet! Are you doing RnR, too?
It probably is SOP. Were you bummed too, though?
OOO does this mean I can say I know a celebrity! Awesome!
And I love the invitations, super cute!
Ha ha! I wonder how many people see this? I do always look at the results pages because a lot of times I recognize the names! Do you read Chicago Athlete?
Thanks!
I don’t! I’ve heard of it though, but don’t know where to buy it…
It’s free! Lots of times running stores have it. We keep copies in our studio.
I haven’t been having that problem with Chrome. On both PC and Mac.
And that invite is super cute!!
Ahh! I love Steven’s photos! That’s awesome that they are so coveted! 🙂
Where in Texas will you be visiting? I am obsessed with Austin!
Dallas! This will only be my third ever trip there! I still need to explore the state more! I heard San Antonio is cool, too 🙂
I use chrome and my linky hovery thingy is working! (working-y? Haha)
The invitiation is so pretty and LOVE shutterfly! But why “Kohl”?
And being stuck in a negative funk is hard. No more turds, okay?!
Also, check something off the cosmic bucket list…how many people can say they owe someone else a BRA? Hahahahaha.
I wonder what is up with mine. Hmm.
I explained the Kohl thing in the link – http://www.ilaxstudio.com/blog/2014/01/23/three-missing-questions/, it’s the second set of asterisks.
I’m trying!
I just googled it but came up with a lot of stuff I don’t understand. *Beams* So sorry, I don’t know, but that would drive me nuts! 🙁
Oh dude. I didn’t even realize that was a link when I read through this initially, sorry! Haha, that’s cute lol.
I know, wasn’t my advice the most helpful ever? If my daughter ever calls me and needs advice, I think she is in trouble..
Congrats on being famous! I always look for names I know in local races. You never know who will pop up!
Do ass slaps count as reality slaps??!!
Ha ha, they can – if hard enough! 😉 :-*
How cool! Steven takes really good pictures at races, his work should definitely be shared 🙂 And now you, Erin and Brian are all famous!
I used Shutterfly to make our wedding guest book (using engagement photos), and then again to make my parents a photo book, and both projects turned out really well! I like the invitations you picked for the shower, they’re simple but really cute.
I love the pictures in Competitor! I will need to grab a copy!
Way to go Steven. Always great to see one’s photos in print. Happened to me twice. Competitor used a photo I took at Badwater. Sadly they never credited me as they had been supplied the photo by the runner in it who I had emailed it to so he could have it. No biggie I knew it was mine and the local editor apologized. The other two were also from Badwater of the runner I crewed and two were in an Aussie running mag, that I got the credit for.
You make me feel all warm and fuzzy!!!
<3 <3 <3 Love you!
Texas sounds SO good right about now. And those shower invites are SOOO pretty! Great job!!
