I’ve really got to stop…
… finishing other people’s sentences.
… saying “know what I mean?” so much. It’s okay every once in awhile, but if I keep saying it over and over, it’s probably a sign that I am reaching for affirmation. So I should stop talking. See:
… over sharing, in person, when the other party clearly doesn’t care. Ha! You are stuck with it, here! (and I feel like I’ve gotten better at this, but I find myself doing it a bit again)
… using my phone when someone is talking to me. I am way better at this than I used to be, but I still need to break the habit.
… jamming my fingers/limbs in to things. My skin is so dry and I keep banging in to things and getting all these cuts! Wah wah wah.
… getting irritated with myself for putting effort in to things I should let go, and not enough effort in to other things.
… thinking things will be easy the first time I try them, then getting frustrated when they aren’t. I got a curling iron, thinking maybe I could make my hair look nice, like Christina did. Nope.
… overscheduling. This is highly unlikely.
… picking my nose.
… getting so frustrated with iTunes (and my webhost and other computer things) if I’m not going to take the time to figure them out.
… letting people dump on me but feeling like I can never dump on them. (Not everyone, I totally have friends I dump on).
… posting mopey stuff like this. Ha ha, just kidding!
I am doing a bunch of things right, but today definitely highlighted all the not-so-right things. Oh well. I am off to teach then have drinks with a friend! The day can only get better!
What’s on your “I’ve really got to stop… list?
UGGGH I have issues with curling irons too! I am impatient. And I can never make it look nice after having it professionally done- the mirror makes everything backwards..and the coordination- arrgh! So glad to know I’m not alone! 🙂
Maybe we should practice together? I know a few ladies who have it nailed and I have been collecting their tips… I bet my hugest problem is impatience! (as with everything else in life, ha ha!)
I can give you ladies a lesson!
Woo hoo!
I’ve really got to stop…telling myself I will exercise after work (I am solely a morning working out person!)…watching TV when there a lot of good books to be read…biting my nails…putting off blogging because I’m afraid I have nothing to say or putting off quitting blogging altogether…staying up past 10pm…eating gluten.
That is a good list! Ditto on the books! 🙂
What do you think would help you get that workout in in the am?
Do you want to keep blogging? Put your thoughts out there! We’d love to read them!
I’ve got to stop stressing over things I can’t control I may give my self a darn heart attack if I don’t stop, LOL.
I too suck with all hair products. We are hair styling challenged? LOL
That is so hard to stop! Baby steps, though! I am way less anxious than I used to be (thankfully.. for everyone, ha!).
LOL, beauty from within girl. Who needs a curling iron!?
Ha ha!
I will totally help you learn to curl your hair. AND, I really hope I’m not one of the people that dumps on you. I hope I’m a better friend than that.
And, I need to put down my phone a read more. I need to stop making excuses to eat better and work out. I need to stop letting other people feel bad about myself. I need to get rid of so much of the clutter in my life. There are so many things I could add to this list. Ugh.
WILL YOU? Please!
You weren’t who I was thinking of when I wrote that. But I would love to be bombarded with fun texts and silly pics! LOL! That stuff makes me feel good. And then I get to send you stupid pics of Data 🙂
Which of those things do you want to work on the most, now? 🙂
I think you did a great job on your hair! I think my list would go something like this…
I’ve really got to stop… working (it is so interfering with my sleep and email time)!!! Lol!!!!
=^..^=
Thank you 🙂
Ha ha ha. I am just going to delete my list and replace it with yours!
Your hair looks cute, and curling irons are tricky! Did you clamp your hair, or just wrap it around the barrel? I do the latter, and it seems to work a little better.
Would you please dump on me? I feel like I’ve done nothing but as of late, gosh, especially toward the end of last week. And feel free to send more sh*t emails, don’t feel bad about what Meko said (what does she know anyway?).
I never do anything wrong, so I’ve got nothing for your question. Kidding. I’ve got to stop letting stuff build up to the point that they boil over and stress me out more than they should.
Meko’s got to stop trying to one-up everyone and everything.
Thanks! I was trying to wrap it around the barrel and then clamp it down? I don’t get it. So I need to not use the clamp?
I will dump on you 🙂
Ugh. Work stuff, life stuff or both stuff?
Whatever, Meko did not say that.
Don’t use the clamp at all. Try this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X2Y1yUGJW9g
And just dumb things. Stupid little things kept happening today, but they all just add up! Yay, vague comments.
And of course Meko didn’t say that. It was my recommendation for her.
My favorite part of the video was when she put it on fast forward. How do I do that in real life?! 🙂 LOL, thanks for sharing.
I hope today has less stupid little things for you 🙂
mine is picking sleeping over running…I actually went to bed last night at 8 thinking I would be up bright and early at 4 to get on the dready..I forgot to set my alarm and woke up at 5:30…crapola!
lol picking your nose.
curling irons are a pain. curlers are an art form but last longer.
And I have to break my smart phone habit and the only way to do that I think is to get rid of my smart phone but ugh SCAREY!! LOL
Seriously! I must stop! It hurts! But… yeah, I won’t go on.
I am trying to leave the smart phone not by me. BUT! So hard!
I think you should move to KC and I will do your hair every day. 🙂
OKAY! I can transfer to Region 6. LOL.
I’ve got to stop with the compulsive shopping, especially when it’s “such a good deal” but then it turns out it doesn’t fit, and since I got it on a discount web site with $8 shipping, it’s pointless to return it.
I’ve got to stop biting my nails! It grosses even me out, but I have done it since I was like 2. I don’t care that my nails are little and broken, but I hate that I bite on them at places like work and stuff. I would totally be annoyed if my officemate did it…at least I attempt to be discrete?
Oh gosh, when I get really bored or stressed in a meeting I will sometimes bite ALL my nails off… I am sure people notice… and then what am I supposed to do with them?!
Would wearing polish help break the habit? 🙂
Thanks for sharing your list 😉
Your hair looks beautiful 😉
Nail biting/picking……a personal struggle 🙁 Although, being a nurse has helped tame this less than effective stress reliever 🙁
Aww, thanks 🙂
We just need to wear mittens all the time!!! Keep those fingers out of our mouths (and out of the pantry, for me, ha!).
I need to stop buying any kind of hair implements. I’ve got hot rollers sitting in my closet unopened for oh, 5 years or so? I am a minimalist in that regard. I also need to let go of things/people that are an unproductive waste of time.
You can dump on me anytime.
uh…maybe that should be worded differently!
Hey, at least you can recognize those things about yourself! So many people are just clueless.
I’ve got to stop picking my cuticles (also highly unlikely). I’ve also got to stop doing laundry and then letting the clean clothes just sit in the laundry basket while I watch tv instead.
ugh the picking the nose thing really does have to stop. it’s hard to concentrate on anything you’re saying when you’re finger is up your nose….i’ve been meaning to say something for a while now…
Ha ha ha!
I am not doing it in public, unless Steven counts?! 😛
Hey! I think your hair looks cute!!!
I feel the same way about almost all the things you listed.
That picking the nose thing is hard to stop with the dry weather. Boogers are in abundance in my nose! I say “Keep calm and pick on”
I’ve also gotta’ stop with the cellphone-with-people thing. I’m so bad about it, and I used to be SO AGAINST it. I feel like a giant hypocrite.
I think a lot of people do that, especially when they are involved or engaged in the conversation.
