Notes:
- I was really surprised this am, when I was running single-file with eight other people from my running club, on the correct side of a wide, non-busy road… and a guy in his car honked at us, then stopped his car to flip us all off and show an angry face… when there was no traffic from the other direction. What the heck, dude?! Why so angry, so early on a Sunday morning?
- Speaking of clubs, yesterday was the kickoff for my multisport club. It’s so nice to be in a running club and a multisport club and have so many buddies to reach out to for company on workouts. And to reach out to for their exercise knowledge (and non-exercise knowledge)!
- Despite mentioning the above highlight of having my spirit and energy back, I still have a lot of congestion and just can’t train how I’d like to right now. It’s not really a big deal in the grand scheme of life, but I am running a half in three weeks, and I’d like to get better by then. Well, really, before then. Ha ha.
- I forgot to mention that Meghan was the blogger who “won” a racing stats infographic! You can see it here. I also had already drawn one for Gina, because she is my bestie and I love her. Here’s hers.
Plans for next week:
- Back to 6 days a week of working out.
- A least one run/strength double.
- A least one cross training workout – indoor cycling or snowshoeing (doing a snowshoe 5K with Erin at the end of the month!).
- Run with Dad on Saturday!!! Maybe Sunday, too?!
So glad to hear you are feeling better! This nasty cold has several (myself included) not feeling 100% the last couple weeks!
The random animosity towards runners and bikers is surprising. Some people just aren’t happy with themselves I guess.
I guess! I was truly shocked! I suppose because I was so happy to be out enjoying the temps, to be able to run after feeling so sick… and then there is this rain on my parade. LOL!
I love your adjective of feeling “peppy.” We need to bring that back into wider circulation.
Hope your chest clears up soon.
Yes! Let’s bring it back!
Thanks. I am wondering if I should see a doctor and get some meds. It’s so lame-o to still be coughing so much.
Yikes on that crotchety guy in the car!!! What is his problem? He was probably bugged about something else and was taking it out on you all. What a jerk.
I am glad that you are feeling better, but sorry to hear that you still aren’t feeling 100%. I wish you a speedy recovery to get to 100%!!! Yay for a half marathon in three weeks, I am excited to get the racing season going in 2014!!!
Love the skull balaclava you have on in your Thursday picture!
Yeah, something must have been bugging him. That is what I told myself, but it still irked me, darnit!
Thank you for your well wishes! What is your first race of the year?
Ha ha, and thanks! I love goofy stuff like that 🙂
I think that I’m just about to come down with something – GRRRR! Ah, well, it’s kind of to be expected (since someone else in this household of 2 humans just got over a cold). Hope that you are fully better quite soon.
And as for people flipping you off while running – I had the same experience in December when running with my tri group. And it was a Christmas “social” run – I think the guy also yelled something at us. Someone yelled back to him “Merry Christmas to you too!”. But it’s so weird how seeing a group of runners in your neighborhood will make people so angry.
Oh no! Stay healthy, stay healthy!
LOL, someone in my group waved and smiled at the guy.. what else can we do? And why the heck does it make people so angry to see a group like that? Sounds like something the WSJ would write about. Ha ha. Maybe “how annoying group runners are,” similar to that article where the guy was mad that people run outside and put stickers on their cars for the distances they have done.
First, I LOVE your gaiter. That is hilarious.
Second, I do not understand why people feel the need to be jerks. Seriously.
