Random Thoughts Thursday XXX
- No matter what cheerful ringtone I put on my work phone, I still feel anxious to answer it when it rings unexpectedly.
- I had the chance to stock up on some items at Whole Foods on Sunday. Before he said anything else to me, the cashier asked, “How long have you been vegan?” Am I that obvious? Ha ha, with a cart full of Teese, vegan ice cream, vegan yogurt, vegan chocolate… you get the idea… I think I am quite obvious. What does your cart say about you?
- I have been anxious to try vegan yogurt! I bought a vanilla flavored one made with almond milk and quite like it. I don’t think I will make a point of having it in the house though (but it’s a fun treat).
- I like tea, but damn, do I ever think tea bags look gross. Even when I have a nice little holder to put them in. Eww. Does anyone else think this?
- I am going to make a bold assumption and say that a white button down shirt is probably a staple clothing item in both men and women’s closets. So, then why is the one I have all floppy and weird? Ugh…

I hate fishing that damn tea bag out of the bottom of my mug… so gross… lol
my grocery cart says i am overly processed…but I am working on it!
How’s it going?! 🙂
My grocery cart is the same like Eric Smith’s up there..It’s bad. Ugh. Working on this being a better cook thing!
First off, I giggle everytime I say teabag or teabag holder… yes, I’m 12.
I own one white button down shirt but I rarely wear it. Maybe I should try it under a sweater.
My grocery cart is usually filled with whole foods, bacon and craft beer. Add in the bearded husband and you may as well call me a hipster. Ugh.
I usually keep my phone on mute and call back. 🙂
You are naughty!!!!!!!! I wish my work cell had better caller ID. That would help with the anxiety 😉
Iron the collar with heavy starch!
I actually don’t own a plain white shirt – button down or otherwise!
The other day I spent 30 minutes browsing Whole Foods after spinning and I left with ground cloves, natural deodorant (I’m trying to make the switch), and my favorite SF vanilla So Delicious coconut milk. Clearly a really focused use of my 30 minutes.
Agreed with Etta….starch and iron that baby.
Ha ha ha. It is easy to lose time there!
I am not sure if starch would do anything to this shirt… it is some weird material, kind of silky, but not silk.
My cart is pretty similar to Katie’s, down to the bearded husband. If I send Bob to the store by himself, his cart says “I’m a single college-aged dude who has no clue how to eat healthy,” which may also come off as “Yay! My wife isn’t here to run up the bill with all those pesky vegetables!”
And all of my button-downs look like that!
Your yogurt with oranges, blueberries, and blackberries looks delicious! I will have to try that combination.
Hmmmn. My grocery cart probably says I like to eat healthy but have a sweet tooth and drink too much Diet Coke. Guilty as charged.
Eddie Bauer makes a wrinkle free button down that is really handy and holds its shape. You just throw it in the dryer and it comes out fine. I wear one probably two days a week, either white or black. In fact I am wearing one right now!
Ooo, I do like some things at EB – they have high quality stuff! I should check it out – thanks! 🙂
It was a good combo. But isn’t any fruit good in vanilla yogurt? 😉
What brand of almond milk yogurt did you buy? I tried one once and wasn’t super impressed. Maybe it hasn’t been long enough since I’ve had the real thing?
My grocery cart is pretty contradictory. There’s a lot of vegan and gluten free products for me and then Ian’s frozen foods and meat. I always offer to make him dinner but I think he likes the Trader Joe’s frozen stuff. Oh well, it makes my life easier!
It was the Amande brand – http://amandeyogurt.com/. You know, Steven thought it was a bit sour/did not care for it. I have not had yogurt in several years so it tasted good to me 😉
LOL! Your cart does sound contradictory!!!
I think used tea bags look disgusting as well. I dont know why but its not visually appealing.
I agree! Tea bags are always wet and drippy and gross!
I don’t own a white button down shirt. Am I doing it wrong? 😉
You? NEVER! Your fashion style does not include plain boring things.
I haven’t found a white shirt that’s long enough with a standard, non-trendy collar.
Almond milk yogurt sounds like it might be good! I really like drinking vanilla almond milk and adding it to oatmeal and tea so I wonder if I would like the yogurt. What brand is it?
Hahahah, tea bags are gross! Which is why I love my Keurig 🙂
As for the white shirt, they are a staple but for some reason it’s hard to find the perfect one!
It’s this brand – http://amandeyogurt.com/ 🙂
I have been using the Keurig to heat up the water for tea, but have not tried any of the tea k-cups (I have SO MANY DAMN bags of tea I need to use!).
LOL. I was going to respond to Kelly in the comment above to tell her to ask you for help with the white shirt. I guess not? 😉
YES! Tea bags are gross–was just thinking that this morning. I hate squeezing out the darn thing.
I always wonder about my cart/basket. I think that the last time I went to the store, I picked up fruit and beer. Both happen to be staples in my diet!
What my cart says about me depends on where we’re shopping. When we go to Whole Foods, people probably think we eat a lot of produce, dairy and meat. When we go to Jewel, people probably think we live off Chocolate Mini-Wheats (which, on some weeks, it feels like that’s all Gavin will eat).
Good point! In that case, our ALDI shopping cart would always look the healthiest.
i do not even want to know what people think of based on my grocery purchases. The other day after run, i stopped at the store to buy vodka and block of cheese. Even worse, the vodka was on sale so i bought the big size. All while wearing my running gear.
Yup teabags are gross, hence the other meaning of the word tea bagging. ewww. I know.
My grocery cart says I have kids and the little one is the picky eater and I have to shop at a specialty store and spend $$$$ more than at other stores. LOL
Ha ha. I was wondering who would be the one to bring that up.
My grocery cart says that I love cheese, bread, and butter. And, guess what? I do 😉
My cart probably confuses the heck out of people. There’s my food (all the fresh fruits/veggies, grains, nuts, etc) and then there’s my husband’s food (Doritos and bologna). LOL
Even the word “teabag” is gross. hahahahaha
I do not have a white button down shirt. Brian does but I don’t. I wore a uniform in high school and we had to wear either white polos or white button downs so I kind of stopped wearing them after that. I hate tea bag too – i hate having to fish them out of the bottom of my cups.
I have three white button-down shirts but am not entirely happy with any of them (one doesn’t fit right, the collar on one doesn’t lay right, one is too sheer). So I am always on the lookout for THE perfect white button-down shirt. You would think that it would be easy to find, but it is not!!!
I once saw a segment on Jay Leno where they went to a grocery store and tried to guess a person’s marital status based on the contents of their grocery cart. To this day I still look at my own cart and wonder what “image” I convey to people based on the contents. LOL
Teabags do look disgusting. My dad has a habit of leaving them sitting on the counter or on whatever table he is sitting near, and it drives me nuts!
Ha, yes, teabags that are all “spent” look gross! I always put them on dishes and leave them on the counter, so then they’re semi-dry and are in a little gross pool of liquid (which also dries, leaving a gross stain). I also hate squeezing out the liquid when I take them out of the cup. Grosssss.
And Harrison always laughs about this, but every week, I make some comment about how people will judge us for our grocery cart contents. I say either, “Oh boy! We look so healthy this week!” (full of vegetables and non-processed things) or “Oh no, people will judge us!” (usually a baking week). He always says that no one else cares about this, but it sounds like I am not completely along in wondering what the cart says about me. 🙂
LOL! Love that you guys already talk about that. Unfortunately, I think people DO look and DO judge! You should take pics of your good and bad weeks for the blog. LOL!
