Congrats to Andrew on the triathlon!

You chose a good week to take some rest days (I know, it wasn’t really your choice). It’s hot out there!

It is crazy how hot and humid it is! I wonder what we have in store for us for the rest of summer. Lots of slow runs, I think. Ha ha ha.

  2. Laura says:

I’m definitely taking a lot of walk breaks in the heat! Also – I love this thing you do with the pics.

Thanks! I like doing that a lot better than when I used to post a zillion huge photos. It was too long and boring 🙂

  3. Amy says:

Sounds like you had a good time cheering your brother in law on – I can totally see you doing a tri one of these days!

Walk breaks are a must this time a year. I also have to consider taking some of those rest days that you have on your schedule!

I used to never take a rest day then my coach encouraged me to take one a week! And it helps so much! Unfortunately I had a lot more this week due to my schedule and travel. Wah wah wah. 😛

      • Pete B says:

Good advice from your coach. It’s better to take a rest day voluntarily, than to over-train and be forced to take a “rest month” in order to recover from an injury.

I should really start wearing my heart rate monitor. Today it was hot out there and it felt like my heart rate increased as a result. I took a short walk break and it was a little better. I need to carry water and possibly monitor my poor heart. The heat really gets to me!
