Lessons learned:
- I am still trying to figure out what is giving me heartburn on my afternoon runs. On Monday I had heartburn from a LUNA bar. On Tuesday, I had peanuts and chocolate chips quite a few hours before my run, and then a GU right before. Ugh. On Tuesday it hurt all night. So – don’t let those be the last thing I eat before a run (along with pickles, Boca burgers, vegan jerky, tortilla chips… what’s on your list?).
- No hot weather runs immediately before a strength session. I had NO energy on Friday for my session. Lame.
- Sitting still on a long bus ride after a half marathon makes my plantar fasciitis really hurt.
Great job on the half yesterday!
Thanks! 🙂
rats, I forgot the SMA walk was today….one of these days, I’ll have my head on straight again. can’t wait to hear your take on the half. I’m still a little bummed about how it all played out for me, but what can you do?
Bananas make me puke and ice cream will totally kill a run. As will a donut (not that either of those are shockers…).
you had quite a week! That’s why your my super elite!
Looks like 8 miles is your happy “short” run distance, huh? I’m glad you were able to finish the race strong and be happy with your performance in the heat.
Yeah, I feel like 8 is a long enough short run that I get my appetite going for dinner 🙂
