Lessons learned:
- Be really careful scratching my bare back when I run. I accidentally clawed myself pretty good the previous week, and it hurt all this week.
- My runs on Tuesday and Thursday were pretty difficult because I had some strange heartburn from who knows what. Ugh, lesson… figure out what gave me that heartburn?
- Eating a vanilla GU seemed to provide temporary relief from heart burn. Who knew?
- Be careful not to kick things accidentally (I kicked Steven’s sandal. My Morton’s toe(nail) turned blue right away. It hurt for days.)
Reminders for next week:
- Keep on running slow in the heat. It’s okay.
- Don’t feel bad about replacing a run with cross training when it’s so damn hot.
- Stop planning on running after working out with Brian! THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
- Don’t forget your bike gloves for rides!!!!!!
For like 3 weeks now I’ve been telling myself I’d run after strength class. And then? I DON’T. So yeah – with you on that.
I missed the Essential Fitness run/walk 🙁 Wish I could have joined everyone!
Sometimes I fit it in but I have really been trying to be conscious of spending more time with Steven so I decided I could skip it this week! I just need to wake up at my regular time even when I work from home. BARF. 😛
Love the pics!
Yay! You got out on your bike. Bike riding when it’s hot is a great running replacement 🙂
When I was on my ride I was thinking we should get together for a long ride too. Maybe the entire Des Plaines River Trail?
It’s been pretty warm around here too. And I only hope to get warmer. I don’t care if I run even slower than I do (though this is kind of difficult, as I am slow as molasses as is) as long as it’s Summer 🙂
So in the small world of things, I was talking to one of my co-workers this morning about her weekend, and she mentioned that she went to a walk/run on Saturday that was hosted by the group she does strength training with. She lives in Grayslake, so something clicked, and I asked her what the group was called. Long story short, I told her about this blogger I read who was at the same event – come to find out, she walked with you and Steven yesterday, and she’s the friend who waved at you out her car window last week! I’ve known her for like 6-7 years, and she’s sitting not even 10 feet away from me as I type this (um, I mean, I’m not reading blogs at the office….).
WHAT THE HECK!!! You work with Cheryl?!?!?! That is AWESOME!!! I love her 🙂
This is too awesome. This comment made my day 🙂
Yep! We work on a team of 5 people – seriously what are the odds?
Slim to Nil! That is incredible! Now that you know two of us up here, we need to all get together for something fun 🙂
I mean, I’ve worked in the area for 8 years now, so I know a few people in your neck of the woods 🙂
