Training Week 132
Highlight of the Week: I felt really good this week, so I went for one of my 2012 running goals, and accomplished it – a new weekly personal distance record (PDR) of 61.1 (my goal was to run 60). Now, if I ran 9.5 miles tomorrow, I could meet one of my other goals – a 200 mile month. What do you think? Should I go for it? Ha ha. Either way, I am at a new monthly PDR of 190.5.

Lessons learned:
- I have no desire to run a marathon right now. As much as I love to run long, I am no where near mentally or physically ready. Nope nope nope.
- Naps before a run are not as good of an idea as they seem. The naps feel so great you don’t want to leave for your run.
- Being a competitive ass in Wednesday’s strength class made my form suffer (we were seeing who could do a certain amount of kettlebell moves the fastest) and I paid for it when my back was sore all day Thursday and Friday.
Reminders for next week:
- Be more careful walking down the stairs – falling down the stairs this week did not make me feel very awesome.
You go, girl! I need to focus on my running again. I have been heading to kick boxing & other exercise classes at a new gym. At least I got the cross in! Glad you nabbed one of your 2012 goal :)))
You just reminded me that I have a kickboxing groupon to start using! I need to do more cross! 🙂
61 miles? That is AMAZING! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten over 48… my goal is to break 50 some time.
Thanks Kim 🙂 I think breaking 50 is really hard. I have only done that 2x now!
I live your guns shirt! Where did you get it? Also great week! Good join hiring your crazy awesome PDR!
Thanks! It’s from the Nike Outlet at Pleasant Prairie Outlets in WI 🙂
I was just going to say the SAME thing!! 🙂
I love your “These guns are loaded” shirt! Glad you had a good running week.
Congrats on your 60 mile plus week new record! That is awesome and you are a rockstar!! Hope you have another great week of running this week!
Congrats on a new weekly PDR! Awesome and congrats on a high mileage month!! 🙂 You are awesome.
I am loving these recaps, especially when I get to make an appearance! 🙂
Look at you! 61 miles!
Thanks so much for running with me today – I know I’ve said it already, but it was so GREAT having you there today.
Now, if I can run 25 miles tomorrow, I can get to 200 – what do you think? HAHAHA!
You’re welcome. 🙂
I think you should go for the 25! 🙂
Great work on the new PDR!
Holy cow! 61 miles in one week??? Of course, if you keep running 20 miles every weekend your weeks will have high mileage. Maybe you should train for an ultra instead. In those, speed doesn’t really matter 🙂
You read my mind. I was talking to Bobbi about that yesterday. There is an ultra in October on the DPRT that appeals to me, and I could run slow.
Holy running machine!! You rock! Congrats on a stellar week. Just reading about all the running is getting me fired up!
Congrats on a new weekly high mileage PR. Getting above 60 has got to feel great!
You spotted a Gosling! No. way.
Very impressive mileage! Holy cow!
I’ve seen goslings on my runs lately too. Unfortunately they weren’t in the water so I got to experience the parent geese hissing at me as I ran by.
Kim – You rock, AND you inspire me. That is all. 🙂
(Goslings…Where’s Ryan!? — Hey, girl.)
I wish Ryan would run with me!
A 200-mile month!?!?!? AMAZING. It’s taken me this entire calendar year so far to run about 215 miles, and you almost do that in a single month!!! WOW!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
61 miles is AWESOME! I can barely wrap my mind around 40 right now- and hope to hit it tomorrow… And 200 miles for the month- WOW! 🙂
