I want to wash my hands, my face and hair with snow / Media Giveaway WINNER

Not really. Anyone besides Steven know where those lyrics are from?

I woke up this morning to, you guessed it, SNOW!!!

View from my desk at home

I kept seeing all of these articles online about how we may not have a white Christmas, and the lack of snow is hurting business… what do you guys think? Is having a white Christmas important to you? (I’d be curious to hear from my warm-weather readers!)

All I know is that this morning I decided to move my 9-miler to tomorrow and get on the bike trainer instead. I am such a klutz… I do not need to be out there running in the snow when I have the option of running tomorrow when it might not be as slippery!

The winner of the Season of Giving Giveaway #4: Media is #10, martymankins. Marty, please send me your mailing address as well as your (<$20 for one year) magazine choice at kilax@ilaxstudio.com and I will send the goodies your way!

Stay tuned for the final Season of Giving Giveaway #5 on Monday the 19th!

SNOW! Of course… it’s from the movie White Christmas.

That view outside your window is gorgeous. It rarely snows here on the Gulf Coast, so of course Christmas to me is not associated with snow. (Tamales on the other hand… can’t have a Christmas without some tamales! Many Mexican-American families make homemade tamales for Christmas).

But one year it snowed on Christmas Eve, and we were sitting inside a beautiful pub with my parents, watching the flakes drift down, and it was so Christmas-y and special.

    White Christmas!!!

  3. Kandi says:

We only have a white Christmas occasionally so it isn’t really important to me. Two years ago we got 2 feet of snow about three days before Christmas… I’d rather have a green Christmas than have to deal with that much snow!
Did they mention which type of business it was affecting? I can only think of ski resorts and such when I think of lack of snow hurting businesses. I would think that retailers would be happy because people can still easily get out to their stores.

I didn’t even read the article. I thought it was too ridiculous. Ha ha. I will let you know if I run by it again!

  4. cindy says:

I’d love a white Christmas. I doubt that we will have one but have my cross country skis ready just in case.

  5. bobbi says:

The kids are loving the snow – just fb messaged you about running later (if you change your mind, hehe) – next week is going to be crazy, so I need to get as much in over the weekend as I can…

For me personally, Christmas just doesn’t seem like Christmas without the snow.

  6. I woke up and saw the snow, too! Except I’m not as excited because I’ve GOT to go to Target and am surely going to lose my parking spot… rats…

  7. Amy says:

We actually had some snow last night – but it didn’t stick! In the Ardennes in the east of Belgium, it did stick and you can ski there now…
To me it is nice to have snow for Christmas but not when everybody has to go to school and work – too dangerous!

  8. Kelly says:

I like snow on Christmas and it’s kind of exciting the first time it snows. The subsequent 1,482 times is snows are not.

  9. Michel says:

I woke up to the snow this morning and did a wth. Because I thought we weren’t going to have snow either for awhile. I do love snow on Christmas but eh I could do without it for other reasons.

  10. Kayla says:

I always say I like snow until christmas and maybe a week or two after and then it can go away.

  11. Holly says:

I’m all about the cold-but-clear-blue-skies California Christmas!

  12. Etta says:

I prefer that we NOT have a white Christmas. We’ve had crummy winter weather all three years we’ve traveled to Missouri for Christmas. The first year we drove in ice. The second we got snow/ice once we got there and got stuck in a snow drift. The third it was fine in Missouri but where we live got 6″ of snow that we had to deal with when we got home! I’m totally fine with sunshine and 40F.

  13. Courtney says:

We have only had one white Christmas that I can actually remember!! I think it’s nice but it does cause a lot of problems for us Texans, we are not so good with the snow, lol!
    =^..^=

  14. gina says:

I’m not into the White Christmas scene. It makes travel complicated and I would hate not seeing fam during Christmas.

  15. martymankins says:

Oh wow… how awesome! Thank you for the prize. Will send email right now.

I wish we had snow here. Really, I do. I’m not a fan of snow, but I’m a bigger non fan of the inversion air conditions we have here.
