Not so awesome spot / Wildskins Arm Warmers Giveaway WINNER
Remember when I was all excited about my new bike trainer? Well, I found an awesome place to store it – right at the top of the stairs, under this little table:
Oops. Maybe that is not such an awesome spot:
Luckily, that’s Steven’s toe, not mine (sorry, Babe) and it’s mostly healed by now. But ouch.
Steven and I were walking up the stairs and he was pretty close behind me and didn’t see the trainer and accidentally kicked it! A move like that is typical for me, but not for Steven. I am the klutz in the family!
Are you klutzy at all? Or all you all grace?
I am a total klutz, and sometimes, I think I am a bit accident-prone. I am really surprised I have not fallen off of my bike yet, or even fallen during a (running) race. I am just waiting for it to happen. Hopefully I will be able to laugh it off. And not hurt myself too much!
When I was in college, I had a sort of freak accident where a really heavy slate countertop fell on me and pinned me against a lab table. The blow from the table fractured my left wrist and left* my quads really bruised. Anyway… the next day, I was leaving class (it was only the second day of winter semester) when I slipped on ice on the sidewalk and my stuff flew everywhere. But I was just thinking about protecting my wrist. So I laughed about it and my friends helped me up.
I also thought the 2009 Fourth of July waterslide wrist ligaments tear incident was pretty amusing at the time… but then that following months of trying to take care of myself with only one good arm kind of sucked. It did in college when I fractured my wrist too. Hmm. I should be more careful.
Any somewhat amusing (now that it’s over) injury stories to share with me?
*Wow, the two “lefts” so close together make that statement kind of confusing.

Just the mouse/finger story but I understand what a pain it is to not be able to use one hand. Happened at worst time of year for me so of course I had the cast all busted up within 3 days, I think I could have used the fiberglass one they put on next to pound nails.
You should have let us know that was Steven’s toe BEFORE showing us the picture. 😉
I fell during a trail race and sprained my pinky finger. I can still feel tightness/soreness in it 7 months later. I’m not even sure I tripped over any roots or anything.
Ouch!!!! There’s nothing worse than I stubbed toe! I am a total klutz and pretty much always have a bruise or minor injury. I think my worst klutzy moment came when I was walking with a friend and tripped while we were crossing the street. I had my hands in my puffy vest and couldn’t get them out to break my fall in time and I broke two ribs! Yeah, and that was three weeks before my first marathon! Luckily, I rested enough and was still able to run the race.
You are my hero for running that race. And my klutz twin!!!
Oh, poor Steven! If it’s any consolation, you can tell him that at least stubbing his toe didn’t tear off his toenail like I managed to do last time I stubbed mine badly!
I have a bad habit of falling when running (trail, road, path, treadmill, races – I’ve fallen with each of them – seriously, who falls off a treadmill!?!). I’m afraid to say it, but I’m surprised that with as much as I fall running I haven’t fallen at work yet. The last thing I need is to fall off of the roof of an abandoned strip mall in a seedy part any random state that I’m in!
Ouch! He probably won’t make that mistake again!
I’m not usually a klutz but it’s definitely getting worse as I get older. Thankfully (knock on wood) it’s never been anything too serious.
Yay! 🙂 I never win anything…I will be emailing you shortly!
I am definitely the klutz of my family and should have wayyyy more injuries to account for. But a couple of years ago at Christmas, I was playing Wii Bowling with my cousins, and went to swing my arm (i.e. the ball) back and right at that very moment my dog (Bali) came charging at me. The impact was so loud everyone (including me) thought I had broken my hand…and I was worried that I had seriously hurt my dog 🙁 But everyone was OK…my hand was bruised/sore for a few days…I swear I must be the only person to get injured from Wii BOWLING!! 🙂
Ha! I love your wii bowling story! Especially since I got hurt the last time I played wii volleyball – someone accidentally hit me!
Klutzy Kim! I would pay good money to see you and Steve walk around in the winter.
