NYC Marathon Official Photos
I wasn’t sure if I wanted to order all of the digital prints for the NYC Marathon… but I couldn’t see them very well on the preview page so I ended up ordering them all, and apparently a bunch of videos. I ended up with 61 pictures and 7 videos! I actually really like the pictures. Now I can show you Olivier, the French man who helped me finish the race.

Check out our hug in the video below.
I’ve tried to friend Olivier on Facebook, but he hasn’t responded. Probably because he has no idea who I am. I may have my French friend write something for me to send to him. I just wanted to say thanks. His help at the end of the race means so much to me.
There were also some really cool pictures of the overall race included in the package. I love the ones that show how crazy the start is over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. The first and third pictures below show how the three color groups start off in different corrals on the bridge, then go on different paths when they get off the bridge (they all converge at mile 8).
The images they gave us are so large, we may have some printed and framed. That would be pretty cool! Maybe this one:
Or maybe this one:
Just kidding on the last one.
I must say I am happy with the photos! I didn’t expect to be in many, because I always felt like people were in front of me when I saw photographers, but surprisingly, I got a lot of photos. I would like to use some photos to make another shadow box for this race, like the shadow box Erin gave me for the Chicago marathon.
I am probably getting closer to being done talking about the NYC Marathon at this point. Maybe.
The pictures are AWESOME! I think pictures 4, 5, or 6 (counting down from top) would all make REALLY awesome framed art! I especially like 4. I like how its something relatively recognizable as a NYC landmark, but then has all of the bright colors from the runners clothing. Same with 6, although I wish the image was a little more centered on the bridge.
Thanks snis! They sent even more NYC landmark ones! Like the Flatiron, Times Square… I really thought you would like the Times Square one.
Where do you think we could put it up if we got it printed? And should we do a canvas? We were talking about the bedroom or hallway up the stairs.
Great photos!! I enjoyed the video too. I now understand that stumbling feeling of trying to walk after a marathon. 🙂
I had some really good photos from MCM but I didn’t order any. They sent me an email the other day saying that my time limit was about to expire. I had no idea that they do that since Brightroom seems to hold onto (and email me about) my pictures from every race they’ve ever photographed. I guess Marathonphoto is different? Also, it took me a while to realize there was a magnifying glass icon I could click to enlarge the images.
Thanks! I am surprised about Marathonphoto saying that! I get emails for a whole year about races, asking me to buy pics. I’ve only ever purchased them for marathons, so far. And just Chicago, Milwaukee, and NYC.
Awesome pics! And you can keep talking about running the NYC marathon for as long as you like!
I love the pictures. Especially the one of you crossing the finish line. Your smile is so big. 🙂
You got some great photos of yourself from that race. You don’t look like death at all 🙂
The sports medicine doctor I saw had a framed aerial photo of the NYC marathon in the waiting room. It looked a lot like the ones you posted. So crazy to me that there are so many people they have to take different routes!
Those photos are so awesome. I like the pics of all the runners on the bridge as well as the last one that shows you in all your completed glory.
Those are probably the best race pictures I’ve ever seen! That’s pure joy in those pictures!
Thanks Michel! 🙂
Your NYC race photos are awesome! Mine always turn out bad and I always have a death face at the end of the race!
I love your pictures!!! and your big sweaty hug with Olivier – I hope you have some luck in finding him.
