Double Rainbow
On Friday night my grandma was showing me some photos she took of a double rainbow a few weeks earlier. I was really surprised – I had never seen a double rainbow before, or a rainbow where you could see both the beginning and end.
On Saturday it rained on and off all day. Between the rain were bouts of sunshine. When we got back from the beach we all noticed something a little special outside – a double rainbow over the river (click all images to see larger)!
It was really breathtaking. We stood out there for awhile just staring at it.
I don’t have a fancy camera that could catch the entire rainbow, so I did a quick photostitch of it:
The view from my grandma’s house is just amazing. No wonder her and my grandpa built the home to retire in!
When was the last time you saw a rainbow? When you were a kid, did you think there was a pot of gold at the end of rainbows?
I really did. It kind of sucks that there isn’t!
Themocracy
I saw a rainbow (and posted about it!) just last week. It was also a double rainbow, but the second faint one didn’t show up in the picture. BUT, it was one of those that goes up to the sky — I haven’t seen one where you can see both ends in AGES. Yours is awesome (and looking at your FB pictures I didn’t realize it was a complete rainbow, so thanks for the stitching!)

Gorgeous! I saw a rainbow in Ireland once and just thought it was the coolest thing ever. It’s my favorite rainbow sighting thus far!

the first time i saw the ends of a rainbow was in niagara falls… but then a few years later, i saw a more “real” rainbow (not caused by a waterfall!) where i could see both ends as well. your pictures came out so great – i’ve never had pics of rainbows look good!

So pretty! I love rainbows- the last time I saw one was two weeks ago when I was driving down on the move to virginia beach- I took it as a good sign 🙂 We saw a double rainbow on our honeymoon in Kauai! There’s this funny video on youtube of this dude that goes wackadoo over a double rainbow- if you get bored search for double rainbow- it’s pretty funny 🙂
