Late night confession

By , March 19, 2011 10:41 pm

I sometimes still sleep with stuffed animals.

Well, actually, I use a little throw pillow at home, but my sister just gave me this Yoda, who is pretty sweet. So I may regress back in to that habit…

Or maybe not. I woke up with Yoda’s gray hairs all over my pajamas this morning and that was kind of weird.

When I was a freshmen and sophomore in college, I slept with Stitch (from Lilo & Stitch). Then I made Minou (the cat) my junior year, and slept with her until I moved to Illinois in May of 2007… and Data promptly destroyed her. Then I started using a small pillow.

When did you stop sleeping with stuffed animals (if ever)?

I don’t know why I like having something in my arms when I sleep. Is that weird?!

I slept with stuffies when I was a kid, but I STILL sleep with my baby blanket! Unless I’m sleeping with a boyfriend, of course. I love my blanket! And I love your Yoda!!

I like having something in my arms when I sleep, too. I sleep with a stuffed bear that my best friend gave me 20 years ago. He is just the perfect squishiness.

I sleep with a little pillow too. I think it’s normal – especially for women with larger shoulders. It helps open up the chest while we’re sleeping so our shoulders don’t collapse in on themselves. That way, we can breath better…

I had a bear that I slept with for a long time, maybe 10 years? It was sometime in the past 6 years that I finally got rid of it and stopped sleeping with something in my arms. It took a while to get used to and I sometimes use a pillow if I need some sort of support for my arm. I don’t think I could sleep with a stuffed animal again though because Delilah would tear it apart in a heartbeat.

You are such a weirdo! 🙂 I sleep very awkwardly holding my pillow that I am sleeping on with both arms.

haha Yoda is so cute! I don’t remember when I stopped sleeping with my childhood teddy bear….maybe college? 🙂 I HAVE to have something in my arms at night, too! Since college that has been my body pillow (I call it my “husband pillow”). 😉

I was never a stuffed animal kind of girl. But I’ve been spooning at night with one of our dogs for awhile now…love it but it drives The Caveman nuts….makes me love it more!

  8. I still sleep with a stuffed animal every night. 🙂

oh gosh, stuffed animals are totally fine in my book, but YODA???!!! hahaha. You are clearly a child of the 80’s.

I was recently reunited with my “blankie”, that I slept with from ages 2 until 18. I now use it every night again. I think we never reallllly grow up. I’m still a kid.

Aww. I had a favorite thing when I was a kid too – it was a stuffed cat my grandma made, and I took it around like it was my blankie. I wonder where it is!

The funny thing is, I did not start liking Star Wars until the re-release in 1997!

I did all through college and post-college until I was told I had allergies and that the nasty teddy bear I cuddled might be a contributor to my breathing issues 😉 Now I use a pillow!

  11. Erin says:

I never really slept with a stuffed animal big enough to cuddle but for years I had my stuffed polar bear, Snowy, on my bed with me. That Yoda is pretty cute and the perfect size for snuggling. Just tell him to stop shedding!

I still sleep with my teddy bear. 🙂

I use a throw pillow now, but forever I had Little Foot. I had to quick him out because it just got too crowded with a Husband and a Cat. : )

I sleep with a regular pillow. I am a stomach sleeper, but now that I’m pregnant it’s beginning to feel funny. I sleep on my side with the pillow against my chest/stomach. The pressure makes me feel like I’m on my stomach and helps me sleep.

I have to sleep with something too! I just started sleeping with a small blanket from the couch, and it’s worked pretty well so far. I slept with the same stuffed animal from when I was a kid until I got married – my husband still thinks I’m strange for it, but I don’t care 🙂
