Variance

It was 6°F when I went running on Monday (in Iowa).

I had to up the contrast on this photo – check out how it was before.

And 60°F when I went running today (in Missouri).

I can not describe in words how happy I was to arrive in Missouri and see that there was NO SNOW. I do not mind running in the cold, but on the snow? No thanks.

Is it too early to be sick of the snow?!

  1. That pic of you guys running is awesome. You look like you are running really really fast! I hear you on the NO SNOW. If there is snow on the ground I will not run outside. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing, or if I’m worried about slipping and sliding or what. But I just take it to the shredmill when I see snow on the ground.

I like the term shredmill much better than dreadmill. 🙂
I’ve been running on the shredmill at the gym and my runs are getting much better. Probably because it’s so much easier. Oh well.
My gym is closed on New Year’s Day and I was all excited to run outside because it’s supposed to warm up. Uh, 53 on Friday and then 26 on Saturday. Nevermind.

  3. Susan says:

Haha it was ten times warmer in Missouri! There were definitely times when I’ve been sick of the snow…….and the COLD!

  4. I’m not sure how you do it. That looks miserable cold.

  5. Kayla says:

I’m sick of the cold and snow already too and I’m still in MN right now which means its worse than IL. I cant believe you got to run in 60 degree weather(totally jealous)…I was celebrating about 30s 🙂

  6. martymankins says:

Nope, not too early at all. We got another 16 inches here in Salt Lake this morning.

That is so wild that Iowa was that bad yet Missouri had nothing and 60 degree temps.

  7. Its NEVER too early to be sick of the snow. I nearly threw a fit yesterday when it snowed. I was NOT happy!

  8. J says:

We are getting a heat wave here and the snow is melting! Can’t wait for it to be gone, although I know we will get a lot more in another couple of days! I love running in 40 degree weather and maybe even 50F by Saturday!

  9. Erin says:

You’re not alone in being sick of the snow. I’m also sick of having to bundle up when I go outside.

  10. Jen says:

The snow is MELTING in Illinois. It should all be gone when you get back!

  11. Kandi says:

60 degrees sounds fabulous! I hear it’s supposed to get up to 50 here tomorrow and/or Saturday though. Definitely going out for a run!!
I love that pic of you with the snow on your hat! Your jacket is so pretty against the snow.

  12. Holly says:

Nope, don’t think it’s too early at all! It is a balmy 55 degrees in Indy now….it’s SO nice to not have to worry about trapsing slush into my house.

But I will say…a part of me misses the snow covering the dead grass. 😉

  13. Remind me what snow is again? Ha ha. I’m going to start running again on Monday. Fo shiz, and er, all that.

  14. k8 says:

You both look so happy in that last photo. Made me smile.

  15. I went running outside today, too. It was 40 and all the snow has melted. It’s spring thaw, right? Winter is over?

  16. Marcia says:

Awww I love the snow. It’s the cold wind I could do without. I’m afraid the winter is young. But time flies. Happy New Year!

  17. Katie H. says:

No, it is NOT too early to be sick of snow! You look soo cold in the Iowa photo. Hooray for warmer temps!
