Already fighting temptation
I was at the office print center this morning, and they had a glass candy bowl filled with yummy treats.
I looked down at it, and my eyes fixated on the one piece of chocolate in it – a Milky Way Midnight Mini.
I picked it up and held it in my hand. I thought, “I will go put this in my desk drawer – then I can have it as a small treat this afternoon!”
Then I remembered. Was it not just yesterday that I said I would try to cut back on sugar?
Jeez. This may be harder than I thought.
Luckily, I remembered my new goal, and put it back in the bowl. Then I felt something strange – a sense of relief. Relief that I can now walk around the office and ignore ALL of the candy bowls, because I am going to try not to eat any sugary treats.
The relief feels pretty good.
Good for you! I know it is hard.
Sometimes I forget that I don’t eat sugar and take a piece of candy – it sucks when I remember just as I am opening it. 🙂
Just as I was about to say TSK TSK!
Yeah, I’ve felt relief many times as I’ve walked away from candy jar after candy jar at work.
way to go! 🙂
Hilly – At least you remember, right? I was surprised how easy it is to forget!
kapgar – Wouldn’t that have been awful… THE DAY AFTER? Jeez. If your office is like mine, there is candy withing every 15 foot radius 😉
*lynne* – Thanks 😀
When I gave up sugar entirely a few years ago (it only lasted a couple months) I happened to start on Valentine’s Day. Stupid me! Talk about difficult! I don’t recommend it. 🙂
sizzle – Ha! Valentine’s Day?! That would be hard! But it lasted a couple of months? Good job 🙂
Wow, good for you! We always have SO many sweets at school and I really need to stop eating them!!!!!
Bethany – I am surprised! Where does everyone keep their treats, on their desks in the classroom? Are they for the students or teachers?
They are in the kitchen, for the teachers only. None of us have desks so all the food is in the kitchen and is a free for all. It’s wonderful, and awful! 😉
Bethany – Oh gosh! The doubled edged sword of free food. I know ALL ABOUT that one!
