Donk yeah!
Last weekend, while on the boat with Steven and my family, Steven leaned over to me and said, “If you stick your head out of the boat, and breathe through your nose, that’s kind of what it’s like when you are in free fall when you go skydiving.”
Of course, I lean over to the side of the boat, and my mom says, “Are you thinking about going skydiving?”
“Maybe someday, mom,” I answer.
“Well, I don’t think you should,” she is obviously worried. “Sometimes the parachute doesn’t open.”
Sure mom…
Kyle, Christina, Kim and Steven
Our parachutes opened!
I wasn’t scared/anxious until I was actually kneeling next to the open door in the airplane, ready to jump out. For a split second, I thought “What the hell am I doing all the way up here?!” But then I jumped, and loved it!
Donk Yeah!
Hellzzz Yeahhh!
Oh, dear Lord! I’m so glad you weren’t hurt! Falling is my biggest fear – next to heights.
That’s just awesome. You are way more daring than I’ll ever be. Fun to live vicariously through you!
Tandem skydiving just got me excited to take a parachuting class. I was hoping to move up to a solo skydive after that, but never made it. π
Awesome! I can’t believe you did it- that is SO COOL.
That’s so cool! I loved doing the indoor skydiving but I don’t really have a desire to do the real thing. I’d do it if I were on a reality show (which I’d probaby never do) but that’s about the only way. I think it’s cool when other people do it, though. Congrats!
If this is what it leads to no more boat rides for you two! (J/K, wish I could have been there to witness this)
How fun! I’d go sky diving, but my husband never would. He doesn’t even like to look out windows in a high building.
W00t!!! That’s something I have on my “things to do before I die” list.
Oh hells to the yeah, go you!
Sooooooo cool! Awesome!
Please take Kevin with you next time…he has been bugging me to death about going for a few years now. I just can’t do it…I’d wet myself!
Good for you! That’s on my list of things to do before I die!
I was supposed to go once in college with some friends, but the weekend before we were going to go, I sprained my shoulder (trying to tackle a much bigger person than me in a football game), and the doctor wouldn’t let me. So I was the official “on the ground” photographer instead.
If you go again, let me know – I’ll drive up and go with you!
ARE YOU NUCKING FUTS? OMG, I cannot believe you! I could NEVA do that in a zillion years. I’m seeing that you and your hubby have a very extreme daring side! I’m in shock. I never saw this coming. And, so nonchalant, “yeah, we jumped out of a plane today” I am speechless. I don’t know how you worked up the nerve to do that but I’m glad you are back in one piece! BRAVE WOMAN!
Wow. That is awesome. I would be scarred sh!tless since I have a big fear of heights. Very few things do I do that are height-related that I can temporarily put my fear on hold (observation deck at the World Trade Center in August 2000 was one of them.. so glad I did that). Maybe someday I’ll take the jump. It looks like fun.
WOOHOO! You rock!
(I am sooooooooo never doing that…..)
Oh hells yeah! I say we call for an airborne next meeting of the CBSC!!!
Wow! I’m impressed. Congrats to you. I have this fear of falling, so i don’t think I’ll be skydiving any time…ever.
Oh my god – awesome. Good for you!!!!
Steven – Ready to get donked again?!
Christina – Hellz yeah we are ready to order! Wait, is that what I said?
Jodi – Falling AND heights? Yikes! This is not the activity for you! π
Nilsa – Daring… or reckless? π
Dave2 – That is kind of what it makes me feel like too. Kind of. That solo jump sounds so scary! Just the landing, really.
sizzle – I kind of can’t believe it either! I’m still all psyched from it!
ajooja – Woah! What is “indoor skydiving”? That sounds interesting.
dad – We had been planning it for a few months, but wanted it to be a surprise. I wish you could have been there. I think you should try it! It TOTALLY seems like something you would want to do. There was a lady grandma’s age there doing it!
Jenn – A few weeks ago I was on the 34th floor of some building, and I walked to the edge and felt a bit dizzy… and thought “and why is it I want to go skydiving?” But when you are up there so high, you don’t have a lot to reference… you don’t know how high you are! (well, except for all the gadgets and stuff that say all that)
Lisa – If you do put it on your list and go, I think you will put it on your list, over and over again… it is that much fun!
Hilly – Ha ha! I love that saying “hells to the yeah”!
Robin – Thanks π
beth – Does Kevin want to come back, or should I go there? π
Stephanie – What a super bummer. Has the opportunity never come up again? I will tell you if we are going to go again!
javaqueen14 – Oh my gosh. I am going to be laughing at this comment for a long time. Your reaction is totally cracking me up! π
martymankins – If you somehow managed to do it, I think your fear of heights would be cured forever. But it is pretty intimidating!
Kyra – But you did that high-walk thing! (What was that called?)
kapgar – I am 100% in if you are in π
Cheryl – A fear of falling from high spaces… or just falling down in general π
suze – THANKS π
WOW you did have a great weekend! and while I was making room for Data in my home I’m sure that he’d much rather stay with you π
I’ll let you break the news to Pres π
http://www.skyventureorlando.com/
Without a doubt, the most fun I’ve ever had with my clothes on.
I haven’t checked to see if they have a location near us in a while but it is a blast. Make sure you watch the video.
How awesome is that! I love that you are so adventurous!
HOLY CRAP! How did I miss this post! I’m so glad you took the plunge!!! I loooove going!
Very cool! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Very cool! Something I need to try one of these days….
de – I told Steven you were going to come get Data if we didn’t make it. Ha ha! I texted Pres on Saturday to break the news to him!
ajooja – LOL π You’re so funny π And I HAVE seen that before. I wonder, is it as hard as it looks to maneuver in there?
tori – I think you’re the real adventurous one! I think this sounds like something you would like!
Gina (Mannyed) – I LOVED it too! We are all talking about when we should go again. You really aren’t in free fall for that long!
claire – Thanks!
Gary LaPointe – Go! Right away! You’ll want to do it over and over and over…
WOWZER—it is on my list but I am still a HUGE chicken π
It was much easier for the little kids in my group to maneuver than me. I’m a tall, skinny guy who got fat, so I’m kind of like this big, flopping cow in the wind tunnel.
Still, it’s more like “flying” than “falling.” With cab rides, fees, and the video, it cost me about $130. Still, I always tell everyone, “Wouldn’t you pay $130 to be able to fly, even if it’s just for a few minutes?”
It’s so much fun. I’d love to be able to go to one of their camps where you can do it for a long time.
Felicia – Aw, come on! It’s not that scary at all! π
ajooja – I think it would be hard for me to maneuver as well. But it sounds like it is definitely worth the price!
omg…. SO JEALOUS! i totally want to do that, but my mom actually MADE A LIST of things i’m not allowed to do until she dies, and skydiving is on it. doh.
Alice – Maybe you can do like I did, and not tell her until after? π Or would she be upset?
