Self-Love Day
Damn. I told Hilly I would participate in self love day, and now that I’m not feeling much self love, I don’t really feel like participating. Oops. Oh well.
Here are the rules:
1. Post one a banner on your blog and declare February 14th as the day you not only love your one and only, but the day that you love yourself!
2. Post one nice thing about yourself……then ask others to post one thing that they really like about you.
3. Enjoy yourself!
So obviously, I love Obi-Wan Kenobi Steven, Data, my family and friends…
I have a hard time coming up with one nice thing to say about myself because working has made me stressed out… and turned me into a less nicer version of myself at some times.
But here’s one nice thing – I’m thoughtful. I try to do little things to brighten people’s day – write them notes/emails, but special little gifts, give them a call, pick up their favorite treat for them, bring them some shiny kitty stickers, ask how things are going in their life… I try not to be so involved in my own life that I don’t take the time to make other people feel good about themselves.
Kim, oh Kim, where to begin??
I love when you are cheering me on, and I can only imagine you do the same for everyone else in your life. Seriously, the only other people that cheer for me like you do are E. and my trainer. ๐
By the way, I was totally where you are on Sunday. Part of my cry-fest was feeling like a mean, awful person because of what stress was doing to me. But the fact that we even worry about such things makes us pretty darn nice in my opinion. ๐
I’ll give you a lil self love…I’m just so darn thankful that we found each other (is that too weird??) because I feel like you are the sister that I never had but always wished I did! You have a great sense of humor and always, ALWAYS put a smile on my face when I discover that I’m on the receiving end of your notes, cards and kitty stickers! :o) You Kim, simply rock.
Happy Heart Day! Enjoy it as much as possible being stuck at work for 95% of the day. Love ya!
I like your smile. Every time I see you smiling in one of your header graphics, I smile too.
Except this one, because I love Venice, and am so incredibly jealous that it’s you and Steven in that photo and not me. ๐
that’s a wonderful quality to have. i love that you are so kind. i can tell you have a big heart.
I love the fact that you’re not afraid to share your guts when necessary. I’m completely impressed with how you open your self up and don’t even bat an eye doing it (well, at least not that we see anyway).
You are a talented writer and artist, AND you share those talents with others. (Unlike me, whose mantra should be ‘someday…’
I love how you love life!!! You just experience it, write about it, and then I feel like i am there with you!!! I
(((((((((((((((((( hugs )))))))))))))))))))))) and love ๐
kim i don’t even know where to start… since i stopped by late today i got to read all the nice and wonderful things that have been said… and they are all so true!!! i think it’s so awesome to take time out of your busy schedule to think about others (you are so thoughtful!!!) it seems that not too many people do that today… no matter how bad my day was when i get something from you it always makes my day great!!! you’re such a good blogger- i LOVE your blog!!! plus, you’re my blog sister!!!! ๐
(i could go on and on!!)
Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Steven, and Data!!!
I love that you did this even though you’re not really feeling the self-love today. I love that you are honest and that you stay true to who you are. And I love that you are so giving of yourself and look out for those in your circle of friends. And I also love how great you are at commenting (which is an off-shoot of the last one).
What’s not to love about you???? Everything you do gets your full attention whether it’s the stray cats in Rome, Steven and your extended family or what ever you are doing at the moment. Am I prejudiced? NO
Well, you’re pretty much the greatest sister possible… You always know how to make me (and everyone else) laugh. You have such a unique sense of humor, but its still great. You tend to see the positive side of things rather than focusing on the negative. And you don’t take your family & friends for granted. Plus you send me lots of things in the mail. And I love mail!
Happy Valentines Day Sister!! I love you!
I love so much about you that it’s hard to narrow it down!
I love how generous and kind-spirited you are. Even when people are total unreliable flakes, you keep being there for them (ahem). I think you are much more tolerant of other people’s shortcomings than you are of your own. I love how honest you are on your blog, and how easy it is to *know* you through your writing. I love how in love you and Steven are, and that pictures of you two make me misty-eyed. I love how you had the guts to choose that Star Wars song for your recessional (which still makes me laugh).
Most of all, I love what absolutely excellent taste you have in cat names. ๐
And I LOVE being your fairy blogmama!
I love how open you are on your blog. I get a real sense of who you truly are. And I think you have a great sense of humor!
You are an incredibly kind and caring person. You are there for your friends and family when they need you and even for your blog buddies! And no doubt about the caring aspect. I seem to recall a couple packages of goodies coming all the way from Italy for me! That was way too cool.
Oh and you have a very geek friendly heart. How can Obi-Steven and I not appreciate that?
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
YOU ALL MADE MY DAY!!!!
My Valentine’s Day was pretty shitty because I was stuck at work until 7:15… but reading all these comments throughout the day (shh) made me feel so much better! Thank you so much! This is why I love my little blogosphere (and the fam that left comments too!). ๐ ๐ ๐
